    At his press conference today, Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy refused to talk at length about former England manager Sam Allardyce's (pictured) departure.

    The Blues boss also told us that he has never come across corruption in the game personally.

    "I've never seen it and I've never been offered it, but it is there given the allegations and revelations that have come out this week," McCarthy said. 

    "Lots of people will be looking inside the game now and pointing the finger at all of us, and I don't like that.

    "Sam's departure is very sad, but that's all I'm going to say."

    We're due to interview with Shaun Whiter, the footballer who lost his legs in a hit-and-run while helping a friend change a tyre in Newmarket.

    Mr Whiter's legs were crushed by Jan Adamec's vehicle as he tried to help his friend Joey Abbs on Dullingham Road on 1 July.

    Mr Abbs, who played football with Cambridgeshire team Soham Town Rangers, also sustained a serious leg injury.

    Mr Whiter was treated at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge and lost both his legs below the knee.

    An estate agent who worked in Stansted, he had just signed a contract to begin training with Newmarket Town FC.

    Despite his injuries, he told his family he was determined to walk his fiancee down the aisle when they marry next summer.

    Adamec, 40, of Haverhill, admitted causing serious injury by dangerous driving and was sentenced to three years and four months at Cambridge Crown Court.

    The injured duo's story hit the headlines and so far thousands of pounds have been raised to help with their rehabilitation.

    This week, Mr Whiter went visited Chelsea FC and next month there will be a Family Fun Day to raise money for both him and Mr Abbs at Cambridge United FC.

    The search for RAF Honington serviceman Corrie Mckeague, who has been missing since the early hours of Saturday morning, is being expanded to open fields and woodland.

    The 23-year-old from Scotland, who is based at Honington, had spent a night with friends before they went their separate ways in Bury St Edmunds.

    CCTV released by Suffolk Police shows him briefly sleeping in a doorway before getting up, officers believe he was trying to walk home. 

    Police, the RAF, and Suffolk Lowland Search and Rescue have searched the main roads between Bury St Edmunds and Honington. 

    Today the search has been branched out to include open fields and woodland. 

    Meanwhile, Mr Mckeague's mum has appealed for help to find her son on Facebook, a post which has been shared more than 75,000 times.

    The 19-year-old has been telling us how important his Christian faith is to him, and how he is aiming to make the most of his opportunity in the first team. 

    "I'm thankful that my family have always brought me up in a Christian manner and I've come to realise what God means for myself. That's who I rely on," Emmanuel said. 

    "My focus is to be play at and reach the highest level and it should be like that for everyone."

    Fellow Town player Monty Patterson, who's yet to make his senior Blues debut, has been called up by New Zealand for their tour of the USA.

    I rang Ipswich Borough Council to ask them what the plan of action will be with the Carl Giles mural, that's been painted over at the Drum and Monkey pub in the town.

    Sadly their response was that it's "too early to say", and what they do will depend on what they find when their conservator has had a chance to examine the wall more closely.

    Suffolk, external have confirmed wicketkeeper Adam Mansfield as their new captain, replacing Tom Huggins who departed at the end of last season.

    The 25-year-old will be one of the county’s youngest ever, and least experienced skippers, after playing just 17 times in the Championship since making his debut in 2011.

    Mansfield said: “It's a big honour. I was surprised to be asked, even though I did the job in the last game of the season against Buckinghamshire, so I knew I was in the running for it. It's brilliant to be asked."

    Suffolk Police, alongside officers from RAF Honington, are continuing the search for missing serviceman Corrie Mckeague, 23, who was last seen in Bury St Edmunds in the early hours of Saturday morning.

    They're being assisted by the National Police Air Service, external helicopter, and Suffolk Lowland Search and Rescue, external.

    Police are also asking dog walkers or anyone who may be out in the countryside around Bury St Edmunds to get in touch if they notice anything unusual and are asking residents to check any outbuildings.

    Taxpayers are paying more than £400,000 a year to subsidise a farm where a billionaire Saudi prince breeds racehorses.

    The Newmarket farm of Khalid Abdullah al Saud - owner of the legendary horse Frankel - is among the top 100 recipients of EU farm grants in the UK.

    I've just spoken to the British Transport Police who have confirmed they are dealing with an incident in the Cherry Hinton area of Cambridge. 

    They say a person has been hit by a train. 

    It means Greater Anglia train services, external are expected to be effected between Cambridge and Dullingham until about 12:00, where a replacement bus service is running.
