    Thurlow Nunn First Division club Haverhill Borough, external are in the hat for today's FA Vase first round draw after a 1-0 victory over Premier Division Haverhill Rovers, external on Friday.

    Ryan Phillips got the goal after 52 minutes, before Borough's Gareth Thomas was sent off seven minutes later.

    A crowd of 654 turned out to watch the first ever meeting between the two teams.

  3. Man dies during go-karting incidentpublished at 09:56 British Summer Time 26 September 2016

    Police say they were called by the ambulance service yesterday afternoon at about 16:15, to reports that a man had died during a go-karting incident at the Ellough Park Raceway, external near Beccles.

    They say they're currently liaising with Waveney District Council, external, as an investigation into the man's death takes place.

    We've got calls in to the council, as well as the racetrack and the ambulance service, and we'll bring you more details as and when we get them.

    Injuries are starting to bite into Ipswich Town's, external squad with Brett Pitman (pictured left), Adam Webster and Grant Ward likely to sit out tomorrow's game against Brighton.

    They all went off during Saturday's defeat at Leeds, with manager Mick McCarthy downbeat about their chances of a quick recovery.

    "Well they won't be fit for Tuesday that's for sure, I don't think there's any chance," he said.

    The Blues are already without Tommy Smith, Luke Hyam, Jonny Williams, David McGoldrick and possibly Luke Varney, although Teddy Bishop should return.

    Ipswich Town, external boss Mick McCarthy had no complaints about Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Leeds United.

    Former Blues striker Chris Wood scored the only goal of the game at Elland Road, as Town struggled to trouble the home defence.

    "Up until the goal went in we were OK, there wasn't much in the game," said McCarthy. "They upped the tempo with a bit more confidence, and that's what happened. 

    "They had the most outstanding player on the pitch in Chris Wood, who's been a constant threat, held it up there, ran in channels and they could play off him."

  7. Trains halted during weekend fire in Ipswichpublished at 08:48 British Summer Time 26 September 2016

    Trains had to be halted yesterday afternoon, while firefighters tackled a blaze close to the railway line at Wherstead Road in Ipswich.

    The fire service says they had to tackle two areas of undergrowth and neighbouring trees which were alight alongside the railway track.

    The fire was started deliberately and police are investigating.

    A man who died following a collision on the A134 on Thursday, was named over the weekend by police.

    He was Peter Hancock, 62, from Sudbury.

    His Triumph motorcycle was in collision with a Renault Scenic car close to RAF Barnham. 

    Mr Hancock died at the scene.

    Good morning and thanks for joining us as we start a new week of live coverage from across the county.

    As you can see from this photograph, taken in Ipswich by BBC Weather Watcher Carl, there was a beautiful sunrise this morning, so we'll check out what it means shortly with today's forecast, and Brenner Woolley will bring us up-to-date with the county's sports news.
