  11. Tuesday's weather: Another grey day, but a tad warmerpublished at 08:08 British Summer Time 9 May 2017

    Kate Kinsella
    BBC Weather

Another cloudy day but it's not going to feel so cold across the BBC East region.

The keen north/north-easterly breeze has fallen light overnight but you're still going to feel it along the north Norfolk coast.

Elsewhere there'll be a slightly more mild feel to the day, with highs of about 13C (55F) inland.

Cloud will slowly disappear overnight, leading to a cold night, with a chance of a slight frost in some rural spots, and a much brighter start to Wednesday.

    Watch my full forecast here:

  12. Good morning Suffolkpublished at 08:00 British Summer Time 9 May 2017

    Philippa Taylor
    BBC Local Live

Welcome from the team who are sipping their first hot drinks of the day as they get set to keep you up-to-date with events from across the county.

Following the announcement at the beginning of the year that a new "super" council is being created in east Suffolk, two of the county's councils in the west have announced plans to join together to create another new authority for the county.

We'll bring you more on that, as well as our regular news, and sport updates.

I've had a sneak preview of the weather prospects, and I don't think we're going to see much of the sun during the day, so I thought I'd bring you this photograph of a strange brightness in the sky from BBC Weather Watcher "Sunset Alli".

Kate Kinsella will bring us a full forecast next.

    BBC Local Live

That's it for our live updates until 08:00 on Tuesday, although any breaking news will still appear here overnight.

Our main story during the day has been a massive gorse fire close to Southwold Golf Club, which broke out yesterday afternoon but crews remained on site for more than 24 hours.

Elsewhere, we've been dipping into Ed Sheeran's appearance on Desert Island Discs, and trying to spot Britain's largest bird of prey, which is thought to have flown from Norfolk to Essex.

Scroll down for more on these and other stories, and send yourself a reminder to join us again in the morning.

Have a great evening - we hope you like this photo taken in Aldeburgh by BBC Weather Watcher "Carlas Garden". She's been very busy today and uploaded lots of lovely pictures, but we particularly like this one:
