  1. Rehoming family 'is a priority'published at 11:12 British Summer Time 27 June 2017

Earlier we told you about a couple who have set up camp in their mobile home outside council offices.

Suffolk Coastal District Council , externalhas just got back to us with a bit more on that story.

As we reported, Kathryn Clarke was involved in a serious car accident in 2011, which left her with long-term injuries.

As a result of the crash and the period that followed, her husband Nick lost his business and the family lost their home.

The district council has confirmed the couple registered housing in December.

A welfare panel agreed the family should be a "priority case" and the council is awaiting "crucial information" to progress their application.

Councillor Richard Kerry said: "We have now spoken to the family once again and have received the information we required. As such, we are working with them to progress this application as a matter of priority."

Last year more than 350 adult mental health patients were sent out of the county for treatment by the Norfolk and Suffolk Foundation Trust (NSFT).

The figures come from the British Medical Association (BMA) which revealed the practice has seen a 40% increase nationally.

Dr Andrew Molodynski, of the BMA, said: "The government needs to get a handle on this situation because patients are being routinely failed by a system at breaking point with tragic consequences.

"Being sent long distances for treatment has an impact on patients' care and recovery."

Ministers have pledged to eliminate "inappropriate out-of-area placements" for mental health patients by 2020-21.

The NSFT said it was a "priority" for them to reduce such placements.

  3. Official Charts change rules on streaming in Julypublished at 09:57 British Summer Time 27 June 2017

    Everyone loves Ed Sheeran right?

Perhaps not but that didn't stop him from having 16 tracks from one album in the top 20 earlier this year, when he released his Divide album.

It was mainly down to streaming - which at the moment counts 150 streams as a single sale.

But from 7 July, there will also be a new ratio of streams to sales, 300:1, which will apply when a song has been in the chart for a number of weeks and is dropping in popularity.

Also just three of an artist's most popular songs will be allowed in the top 100.

The Official Charts company say the new rules are designed to keep the singles chart about singles - not album tracks and will make it easier for new bands to get noticed.

It's all a bit confusing so head to Newsbeat for the full story.

Some music fans have reacted positively.

Kathryn Clarke was involved in a serious car accident in 2011, which left her with long-term injuries.

As a result of the crash and the period that followed, her husband Nick lost his business and the family lost their home.

The couple and their two children, aged 11 and 13, have been living in their mobile home on a relative's driveway for the last six months, but can no longer stay there.

They said they applied to Suffolk Coastal District Council, external for suitable housing back in December and have been waiting ever since. They have now parked up outside the council's offices in Melton.

Mr Clark, 43, said: "I've worked since I was 16 years old, I don't understand why we shouldn't be given a chance. We don't have anywhere to go.

"We've been through so much as a family, this doesn't scare us, it's life."

Councillor Richard Kerry said the family will be able to bid for a home. He said he cannot comment on individual cases but they have "criteria to work to and will find the best solution for this family".

  6. McCarthy delighted with 'physical' Garnerpublished at 08:46 British Summer Time 27 June 2017

Not every defender will enjoy playing against new Ipswich Town signing Joe Garner according to manager Mick McCarthy, although the Yorkshireman says he would have relished the prospect.

Garner became Town's most expensive signing under McCarthy earlier this month, after a fee was agreed with Rangers for the 29-year-old striker.

"I played centre-half for a long time and I didn't mind playing against players who fancied a scrap," McCarthy said as the Blues returned for pre-season training.

"You know with some players that every time you turn out it's going to be a physical encounter and you're not going to be left alone.

"Joe's got that in abundance. He's constantly running in the channels and fighting away, plus he's got goals in him as well. I'm delighted we've got him."

  7. Blues closing in on potential Lawrence replacementpublished at 08:43 British Summer Time 27 June 2017

Ipswich Town hope to complete the loan signing of Manchester City winger Bersant Celina by the weekend, ahead of next week's trip to Ireland.

The 20-year-old Kosovan is under contract to his current loan club, Dutch side FC Twente, until the end of the month.

Without wanting to put too much pressure on the player Town boss Mick McCarthy told us he hopes Celina can go some way towards replacing last year's standout outfield player Tom Lawrence.

"Bersant has similar qualities," McCarthy said. "He's a right-footed left winger who can play in behind the striker.

"I really want to play him in that wide left area, hopefully in a four, but if necessary in a three."

The Welshman impressed while on loan at Portman Road last season, scoring three times in 13 appearances.

"He was certainly one of our best players from January onwards," Blues manager Mick McCarthy said.

"It'll be a long time before I forget his goal against Newcastle, which probably secured our future in the league and took the pressure off. If we can get him, I'd be delighted.

"He's been on loan at a few clubs now, but there comes a time with a player when you find a place that just fits and I think it did for him here.

"I believe we can get those performances from last season and even better ones from him if he stays."

    Richard Haugh
    BBC Introducing in Suffolk

It's not all about Ed Sheeran and Little Mix.

Hundreds of people gathered at a multi-storey car park in Ipswich on Saturday to enjoy performances from orchestras as part of the Aldeburgh Festival.

With tickets given away to local residents, and others paying just £5, the event was designed to widen the appeal of the festival and highlight what takes place at Snape Maltings.

To start with, those attending the second performance were spread out around the top floors of the NCP car park on Foundation Street and introduced to different elements of the orchestra.

Good work to all involved. It was an insightful and entertaining afternoon which made great use of an unusual space. Hopefully others can take note.
