Thomas Groome murder: Charge over missing man

A man has been charged with murdering a man who disappeared more than five years ago.
Jason Thaxter, 38, from Hexthorpe was also charged with conspiracy to prevent the lawful and decent burial of a dead body, said South Yorkshire Police.
Thomas Groome, was last seen by his family on New Year's Day, 2010, in Thorne, Doncaster. His body has never been found.
Mr Thaxter appeared at Doncaster Magistrates' Court on Saturday.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Sheffield Crown Court on 21 August.
June Buttle, 56, pleaded guilty to Mr Groome's manslaughter in March and was sentenced to 16 years in prison.
