Robyn Mercer died from multiple blows to the head

Two women have been arrested in connection with the murder of an antiques specialist who was bludgeoned to death outside her home.

The body of 50-year-old Robyn Mercer was discovered in Walton Road, West Molesey, Surrey, on 14 March.

The women, aged 20 and 44, were held on Thursday on suspicion of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.

Two men, who were previously detained, were also re-arrested on suspicion of murder and conspiracy to burgle.

Ms Mercer, who worked at JH Bourdon-Smith in Mayfair, west London, died from multiple blows to the head, according to a post-mortem examination.

A total of five people have now been arrested in connection with her murder.

'Family devastated'

Surrey Police said officers were carrying out house-to-house inquiries in the area.

Det Ch Insp Paul Rymarz said Ms Mercer's family had been left "devastated as a result of the attack on their loved one".

"I am convinced someone knows who was responsible and I would ask them to consider the grief that her relatives are facing and share anything which might help the investigation," he added.

Two 26-year-old men were previously arrested on suspicion of murder and bailed. One is also suspected of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.

A 52-year-old man arrested on the day of the attack was killed is due to answer bail on 20 May.

Fellow art and antique specialists described Ms Mercer as an "extremely kind-hearted lady".
