Video shows sex offender crash car during police pursuit
A man drove into the path of oncoming traffic, sped away from police and then crashed his car on the morning he was due in court charged with child sexual offences.
Cambridgeshire Police officers spotted Luke Jarrett, 26, from Wisbech, driving a green Jeep Cherokee on the A47 near the town at about 09:00 BST on 22 September.
He reached speeds of 64mph (103km/h) on a 50mph limit road (80km/h) and he swerved into the path of the police car to stop it overtaking, a spokesperson said.
Jarrett was due to attend Cambridge Magistrates' Court charged in relation to illicit images of children.
He was jailed for three years and four months at Peterborough Crown Court last week after admitting dangerous driving and distributing and possessing indecent images of children.
