Couple plan to use chapel for spooky seances

An 18th Century chapel is set to be used for seances by its new owners.

Laura and Erik Rowton hope to create a "museum of the paranormal and spirituality" at Carmarthen's Penuel Chapel.

"A lot of people take a lot of comfort from reaching out to the other side," Ms Lawton said.

The couple bought the grade-II listed property in August, partly because of its paranormal history.

But Penuel Church, which used to hold services in the chapel, said the plans were not in keeping with its ethos, values or beliefs and that it was not associated with the museum.
