Dani Harmer reveals she will be in Tracy Beaker music video

Star of Tracy Beaker, Dani Harmer has revealed exclusively to Newsround that she will be appearing in the music video for the song 'Someday' - the theme tune from the TV series.

The song is being released by R&B singer Keisha White - the original singer for the TV series theme, which was first heard in 2002.

Speaking to Newsround, Dani explained that she and co-star Emma Maggie Davies who plays her daughter in My Mum Tracy Beaker will both appear in the video: "Keisha White gave birth to a beautiful baby literally days ago, so isn't able to appear in the video," she said.

"So they asked me and lovely Emma who plays Jess Beaker to be in the video, which is just super exciting!

"I never really get to be a pop-star so I was enjoying every single second of it!"

So what's in the video?

"You kind of see Tracy and Jess in a house, it's not their house, it's decorated incredibly - I can't wait for you to see it," Dani said describing the music video.

"It's kind of seeing their Saturday morning routine and also there's going to be a few special cameos appearing in it too."

Who those cameos might be, Dani wouldn't say, so we'll have to wait and see.

This is the first time the song has been released in full and will be available on music streaming services from the 26 March.

In 2019, Stormzy sampled the song on his track 'Superheroes', from his second album 'Heavy Is The Head'.

The track, which celebrates the black youth of Britain, ends with the grime star singing lyrics from 'Someday'.

At the time Stormzy explained how significant the song is because it has been heard by so many people growing up: "That is one of the most prominent pieces of black British music, in terms of R&B. That's Keisha White singing - wonderful - I love Keisha White!"

Speaking to Newsround about the song, Dani said: "Keisha White, who sings the song, is just incredible - she has the voice of an angel.

"I think the theme tune is just so iconic!

"Whenever I walk down the street it's what people sing at me - I absolutely love it!"

But despite playing the character on CBBC for nearly 20 years, Dani admitted she's still not sure of the words.

"I do need to learn the words though - I've realised I'm a little bit rusty on that."
