Those of you that love football will know that one of the most exciting times of the year in the sport is just around the corner.

The deadline for the January transfer window closes next week - that's a time when teams can buy, sell and loan players to strengthen their team or bring in money for the club.

It's particularly important as it's the last chance for clubs to get players in before the end of the season.

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford is one of the big names who could be on the move this time round.

Read on to find out the latest from the 2025 January transfer window.

Rashford signed for Manchester United when he was just seven years old, making his first-team debut in 2016 and marking it with two goals.

He then went on to become one of the team's stars but recently has found himself left out of the team under new manager Ruben Amorim, who appears to have questioned Rashford's effort in training.

The forward has said that he is "ready for a new challenge and the next steps".

Reports suggest that Rashford is willing to take a pay cut to join Spanish side Barcelona.

Newcastle striker Alexander Isak will no doubt have been talked about by clubs in this transfer window too, given he's currently the third top goal scorer in the Premier League.

He has three and a half years left on his contract with Newcastle, who will want to keep him, but there have been rumours of interest from Arsenal.

However, that move would require a big fee.

Rashford is not the only one reported to be on the move from Manchester United with Alejandro Garnacho being linked with Chelsea.

The 20-year-old is available to buy, but a massive £70m asking price could be getting in the way of sealing the final deal.

Even though Liverpool are flying high in the Premier League, there is doubt around some of their biggest players staying at the club.

Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold are all yet to sign a new contract with the Reds.

Liverpool head coach Arne Slot, however, says that Trent Alexander-Arnold is "fully committed" to playing for the club amid rumours linking him with a move to Real Madrid.

What deals have already been done?

Although it's not unusual for deals to be done right up to the last minute, some have already been finalised.

The Women's Super League (WSL) January transfer window closes on 30 January but Chelsea have already bagged a star player. They signed defender Naomi Girma from US side San Diego Wave in a record-breaking deal.

The fee is thought to be around £900,000 - making her the most expensive women's footballer in history.

In the Premier League, Manchester City have signed Egypt forward Omar Marmoush from the German side Eintracht Frankfurt for 70m euros (£59m).

City have completed deals with players going the other way too, and pretty important ones at that.

Their captain, Kyle Walker, has completed a move to Italian club AC Milan on loan for the remainder of the season.
