Who won gold for ParalympicsGB?
ParalympicsGB made a winning start in the pool on the first evening of Para-swimming action, picking up two gold medals.
Poppy Maskill delivered Great Britain's first gold of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games - and she did it in style!
Maskill also set a new world record to claim the women’s S14 100m butterfly title, in her first Paralympic Games.
Her time of 1:03:00 broke the world record by a third of a second.
"Being here at my first Paralympics feels unreal. My mum, dad, sister and nan are here and I can't wait to see them," Maskill explained.
In the final event of the night, Tully Kearney made it double gold delight for ParalympicsGB.
She picked up gold in the women's S5 200m freestyle final - upgrading the silver medal she won in the event at the last Paralympics in Tokyo.
"I'm just absolutely ecstatic and a bit speechless," Kearney said.
She added: "To be able to get here means a lot to me. Even a few weeks ago we weren't sure if I was going to come out and compete, or how many events I would be able to do."
Who won silver for ParalympicsGB?
Earlier in the day, 18-year-old Will Ellard was the first British Para-swimming medallist winning silver in the men's S14 100m butterfly final.
It was a close race that Ellard had led at halfway - but in a tight finish, he was narrowly pipped for gold by a quarter of a second.
Great Britain's Steve Bate and pilot Chris Latham picked up silver in the men's B 4000m individual pursuit.
And Daphne Schrager won silver in the women's C1-3 3000m individual pursuit - Great Britain's first medal of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
Who won bronze for ParalympicsGB?
There was also Para-table tennis bronze for 14-year-old Bly Twomey and team-mate Felicity Pickard in the women's doubles W14 event.
Twomey also made history in her first Paralympic Games as Great Britain's youngest Paralympic table tennis medallist.
She said: "It's amazing because I am so young. I wouldn't have done this without Fliss so I am really proud to have her by my side.
"It feels amazing, the atmosphere is just incredible. I'm really proud to get a medal at my first Paralympic Games and I think it means a lot to be doing it at 14," Twomey added.
What else happened on day one?
The velodrome also witnessed heartbreak for one of ParalympicsGB's big gold medal hopes.
Four-time Paralympic champion Kadeena Cox crashed out of her gold medal race with an early fall in the women's C4-5 500m time trial final.
After the race, Cox said that it was "a weird one" and that she "didn't feel comfortable in the gate."
However, she still has one more event to come - the open C1-5 750m team sprint on Sunday.
In 2016, Cox became the first British athlete to win gold medals in two different sports - cycling and athletics - in the same Games.
