Liverpool have been crowned champions of the Premier League this season.

The Reds beat Tottenham Hotspur 5-1 at Anfield on Sunday.

Their victory means they have now drawn level with Manchester United's record, with 20 top-flight title wins under their belt.

The win also allowed Liverpool to celebrate a title win in front of their fans for the first time since 1990, as they last lifted the trophy at Anfield to an empty stadium in 2020 during the Covid pandemic.

Liverpool's manager Arne Slot said he was proud of the team

Liverpool manager Arne Slot had no doubts about winning: "I think from the moment we arrived on the bus everyone could feel that we were never going to lose this game," he told BBC Match of the Day.

"The fans were so supportive before and during the game. Even at 1-0 down you felt this team and the fans could get it over the line."

He told LFCTV: "They always find a way to win. I'm incredibly proud, not only of the players but the people standing here, sport directors, my staff members, we should give them a big round of applause.

He also sent appreciation to Liverpool's former manager Jurgen Klopp, who he took over from in January 2024.

Spurs came out of fighting at the start of the match, with Dominic Solanke heading in an early goal for them.

But Liverpool struck back with goals from Luis Diaz, Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo in the first half and Mohamed Salah and Destiny Udogie in the second.

Liverpool still have four more games to play before the season is over, but they will be playing them knowing other teams can't catch them at the top of the table.
