Monday night was a big occasion for Leicester City's Jeremy Monga.

During the match against Newcastle United on Monday evening, the winger made history as his club's youngest Premier League player, while also becoming the second youngest player to ever play in the league

At 15 years and 271 days old, Jeremy drops into second place behind Arsenal's Ethan Nwaneri who made his first appearance aged 15 years and 181 days in September 2022.

Leicester's manager Ruud van Nistelrooy said he was impressed by the youngster.

"You could see glimpses of his great qualities. He's a great winger and has speed. He's a fantastic talent, a great boy."

Jeremy will turn 16 on 10 July but can't sign his first professional contract until he turns 17 in 2026.

Notice anything strange about Jeremy Monga's shirt?

But Jeremy's first game was one also he may remember for the wrong reasons.

The 3-0 loss to Newcastle was Leicester's eighth defeat in a row without scoring any goals, and leaves the Foxes 19th in the table.

They need another 15 points to remain in the Premier League next season but only have seven games left to find those precious points.

Also, if you look at the photos above, you may notice something else that's unusual - Jeremy Monga's shirt has no sponsor.

This is because there are strict rules about shirt sponsors of football teams which say that players under-18 are not allowed to be seen wearing or promoting gambling companies.

Leicester City's shirts feature the logo of BC.GAME, an online cryptocurrency gaming platform.

So Jeremy had to wear a special shirt with no sponsor at all.
