Zach Ertz takes in his 11th catch of the night and goes over 100 yards - some effort from the 11th year tight end.

Right then, Washington are 25 points down here with just over seven minutes left to play. We could get into the tactics or the permutations of what they need - but basically they need a load of points pretty quickly.

Sometimes it takes five or six weeks to figure it out, but once the Eagles did, they've basically been unstoppable.

I love seeing Saquon Barkley ball like this, he deserves it. He is the engine to this offence - it is him, it is Saquon, everything runs through him. He exposes you in the run game. Whatever you lack in your run discipline the Eagles go at it with Barkley because of his vision and speed.

  5. touchdown

Touchdown - Eagles!published at 23:02 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January

    Washington Commanders 23-48 Philadelphia Eagles

Stop us if you've heard this one before - but Saquon Barkley runs up the middle, bounces out to the outside and beats everyone to walk into the end zone for his third score of the game.

It looks so easy but it's all down to not only his straight line speed but the quickness with which he changes direction - he can power through the tackles but also beat the quickest defensive back.

What a player - an MVP calibre season if you ask me.

  6. Late, late flag!published at 23:00 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January

    Washington Commanders 23-41 Philadelphia Eagles

Wow, that's a late old flag coming in for pass interference on Washington - it's probably the correct call just about but my word the official took a while to make his mind up.

Ball in on the eight-yard line - too far for a tush push?

Keep giving Barkley the ball, he's averaging eight yards per carry. He's a closer, he gets stronger as the game goes on.

  8. Sack!published at 22:58 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January

    Washington Commanders 23-41 Philadelphia Eagles

Ouch! The one thing they couldn't afford there was a sack but Jayden Daniels has nowhere to go and is brought down by Nolan Smith on the Washington 30.

Daniels may have been better just throwing that on up even into coverage - give his man a jump ball and hope even if he doesn;t get it then Philly get the interception a lot further away than they are now.

  9. Fourth downpublished at 22:56 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January

    Washington Commanders 23-41 Philadelphia Eagles

Still 12 yards to go and in their own half but Washington have to go for it here - and it could be with the game on the line.

  10. Fourth down convertedpublished at 22:55 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January

    Washington Commanders 23-41 Philadelphia Eagles

That's some catch from Zach Ertz to move the sticks on fourth down, sliding to the ground but getting his hands out in front of him and taking it in brilliantly with coverage all over him too.

  11. Postpublished at 22:54 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January

    Washington Commanders 23-41 Philadelphia Eagles

Philly have Washington right where they want them now - they're bringing the heat on Jayden Daniels knowing he's got to go for broke and on fourth down they're still left with five yards to get as they go for it once more. On their own 34.

It's all about minimising mistakes, because the good teams will capitalise off it and make you pay. That's what Philadelphia have done. Everytime they've had chance to put points on the board following a turnover they've done it.

  13. touchdown

After a long, long time with all those flags, Jalen Hurts only has about half a yard to go now and it's easy work for this Philly offensive line to drive over for the touchdown.

Quite comical in the end with Washington trying to get a beat on the snap - you have to try something different as if the Eagles are allowed to use this controversial play at times then you have to expect teams to try and stop it somehow.

Didn't work though. And a long way back from here for Washington.

  14. Flying Frankie!published at 22:47 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January

    Washington Commanders 23-34 Philadelphia Eagles

Frankie Luvu tries a new way of stopping this play by leaping over the top of both lines and attacking Jalen Hurts - and he does it not once but twice!

Luvu gets a warning off the refs, who throw the flags again for more encroachment and Washington are now warned that they could have a score awarded against them if they continue these penalties on the goal line.

  15. Tush push problemspublished at 22:45 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January

    Washington Commanders 23-34 Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles have it at the one and that means the tush push again - but the first attempt it stuffed and then after a flag Jalen Hurts then dropped the ball and actually lost a yard.

Ball security is discipline in the moment. I know it's tense, it's tough, you're trying to get to the Super Bowl. That's what beats you. Great teams do not beat themselves.

  17. Saquon!published at 22:44 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January

    Washington Commanders 23-34 Philadelphia Eagles

So the Eagles get a third turnover - they've got two touchdowns off the first two so how about a third? Well, Saquon Barkley almost scores right away with another lightning quick run.

  18. End of third quarterpublished at 22:43 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January

    Washington Commanders 23-34 Philadelphia Eagles

Jalen Hurts finds AJ Brown for a first down to take us to the end of the third quarter.

Washington are losing the game because of these giveaways and missed opportunities.

  20. Turnover - Commanderspublished at 22:39 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January

    Washington Commanders 23-34 Philadelphia Eagles

Agony for the Commanders. Jayden Daniels twice finds Zach Ertz for a first down and although he picks out Austin Ekeler, linebacker Oren Burks then punches the ball out. Philly recover the fumble so their offence is back on.

Every time the Commanders have given themselves a chance tonight they've gone and shot themselves in the foot.
