    "How much?"

That was my reaction after hearing how much Ashley & Tim from Leeds have paid to be at Super Bowl 58.

"We paid £6,600 each," Ashley said. "I'd been watching ticket prices for six months. This morning when I woke up I checked again to see if I was going to feel sick because prices had dropped but they haven't. They have gone up, and up and up. It seems we have chosen the most expensive Super Bowl ever. But no regrets."

It's a 40th birthday Ashley will never forget that's for sure.

Ryan Fitzpatrick, former NFL quarterback, on Sky Sports: "Patrick Mahomes is not just playing for a Super Bowl. He’s playing for ‘Is he the greatest quarterback of all time?’. Obviously there’s a guy out there with seven rings in Tom Brady."

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes could win his third Super Bowl today at the age of just 28.

There's already talk of him being the future GOAT, but can he chase down Tom Brady's record of seven Super Bowl wins?

Read why victory in Vegas would nudge him a step closer, and why in some areas he's already ahead of schedule.

  5. Can Mahomes catch Brady? What's it like to play alongside them?published at 23:07 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February

What Tom Brady did, I don't know if we'll see that again. Making nine Super Bowls and winning seven, that's unheard of.

But I wouldn't be surprised if Pat Mahomes catches up with him because the Chiefs always find a way to get to the Super Bowl. Being the type of player he is, Pat Mahomes will be in the Super Bowl conversation every single year, as long as he's got the team around him.

When you've got guys like that at quarterback, it's pretty easy to play your heart out for them. Pat Mahomes will usually produce his best and he'll expect the best out of you. You constantly want to play at your best level, to play your heart, just to show you're matching his effort and his intensity because he's going to bring it every single game.

Kobie Turner, Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle: "San Fran has a really solid team top to bottom but I can't go for them as they are our rivals. I definitely see Kansas City taking it. It's hard to bet against Mahomes in the play-offs."

Jonathan Jones, two-time Super Bowl champion with the New England Patriots: "I think it comes down to whoever has the ball at the end of the game. And if it's Mahomes, it's hard to see them not winning."

Jason McCourty, Super Bowl 53 winner with the Patriots: "This is going to be a fun one. As much as we're talking about the quarterbacks, these defences have been stellar all year. If I had to pick one I can't go against Mahomes. I've been beaten by that guy before."

Antoine Winfield Jr, Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety: "It's going to be a close game. It's a toss-up, 50/50. But I've got to go with KC - I just can't bet against Mahomes in the Super Bowl."

An unsigned British indie band - whose Red & Gold song has been adopted by the San Francisco 49ers - hope the track's popularity could help them get signed by a record label.

Gathering of Strangers' lead singer Conor Rabone, who works as a funeral director in Redditch, Worcestershire, by day, said it was "everything we could hope for".

The song has been regularly played during home games at Levi's Stadium. It was also discussed as possible entrance music for the 49ers today... let's see if it will get an airing on the big stage in Las Vegas.

San Francisco 49ers vs Kansas City Chiefs (23:30 GMT)

Brock Purdy came into the league as the 262nd and final pick of the 2022 draft, which comes with the title of 'Mr Irrelevant'. But since becoming the 49ers' starting quarterback he's been anything but.

In his first full season he's thrown more touchdowns and less interceptions than Patrick Mahomes, a two-time MVP. Purdy also had marginally more passing yards in the regular season but has since been surpassed by Mahomes, with the Chiefs seemingly getting hot at just the right time of the season.

The first QB to start four Super Bowls before turning 30, Patrick Mahomes has had to lean on the Chiefs defence this season, but he's come up trumps again in the play-offs.

Can he do it again and pocket a third Super Bowl in just his sixth full season as a starter?

He's a wide receiver, but Deebo Samuel also operates as a running back at times, and when he does he's just so hard to try and tackle, being so powerful.

Many new fans will know him as Taylor Swift's boyfriend, some as that guy off the podcast with his brother, but Travis Kelce also just happens to be one of the best tight ends the game's ever seen.

He's scored in two of his three Super Bowls so far, and had a 100-yard game in the other. He's caught more pay-off passes than anyone else in NFL history, so will be a huge part of the Chiefs game plan.
