It’s been open for four years. It can host 65,000 supporters. It is the world's second most expensive stadium, costing about $2bn to construct.

With its black facade, it was nicknamed The Deathstar by Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis in homage to the foreboding space station manned by Darth Vader in the Star Wars franchise.

For tonight's game, some resale sites have been flogging tickets for up $45,000.

The Allegiant Stadium promises to be a special venue for Super Bowl LVIII.

Having been in the US for a week, I can confirm there are two things Americans do well. The first is chicken wings. The other is the Super Bowl. Yes, I really like wings. Three hours before kick-off and it feels like all 65,000 fans are already inside the Allegiant compound. Mahomes jerseys are aplenty. The sun is shining, the beer is pouring...let's play FOOTBALL!

They do say that a pair of twins could have the power of telepathic communication. Not sure that's the case but these two both predict the score to be 31-27 to the San Francisco 49ers.

"Christian McCaffrey will be the difference maker today. Watch out Chiefs cos he's coming through. And I think our defence will come up big at some point as well. Bang, Bang Niner Gang."

It is 5,500 miles from Tokyo to Las Vegas or 12-and-a-half hours by plane.

Helpfully for Taylor Swift it's also 17 hours ahead.

So she could take off in Japan and arrive back in the US before she even set off (as the clock goes).

Such is the interest in her movements, we saw earlier this week the story of Jack Sweeney, an amateur plane-spotter who has received a letter from Swift's lawyers citing privacy issues about trakcing her plan.

But don't worry Swift fans, she has arrived - and we didn't need any special technology to find that out.

After Rihanna performed to 121 million last year at Super Bowl LVII, it’s the turn of American R&B icon Usher to deliver the half-time show.

He said earlier this week he’s found it “a challenge to squeeze 30 years in to 13 minutes” but promised special guests would join him on stage during his act.

It will be the second time he’s appeared at the Super Bowl, leaping over will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas during their set in 2011.

Will Taylor Swift join him? Find out at about 01:00 GMT.

You could have still bought a ticket for the Super Bowl this morning, with Viagogo reporting that 2,000 tickets were available online, with the get-in price being $5,653.

And if online sale are anything to go by then the 49ers will feel like the home side, with 40% of the tickets sold to fans in California, compared to just 10% from Missouri/Kansas.

The average price of tickets sold was $8,400.
