It wouldn't be an American football game with a pair of dogs. Guess how much for the pair?

Clue: This is Las Vegas...not Turf Moor*

    *Picked at random, honest.

Jason Kelce watches on as brother Travis finally starts to get a few touches of the ball.

After defeat last season with the Philadelphia Eagles, will he be toasting Super Bowl victory this time?

Stephen Brogarth: Like many, the last drive before half time made you think the Chiefs would post at least 3 immediately after halftime. 2 drives later they can't get out of their half.

San Francisco 49ers 10-6 Kansas City Chiefs

Trent McDuffie almost bags an interception as he gets to the ball ahead of Deebo Samuel, who is back out on the field despite being hurt.

Samuel actually does well to disrupt McDuffie and possibly save the interception.

Three drives, three and outs on each one so far this half for San Francisco.

As the Chiefs completed a third down attempt, two men from the crowd ran onto the field. They were quickly tackled by an army of security guards before they could get close to any players. The type of tackles a linebacker would be proud of.

Andrew Priestley: The one Super Bowl that Mahomes and the rest of this Chiefs team lost was vs another dominant defensive display from the Buccaneers. Just like that night, the 49ers haven’t given Mahomes and his offence an inch or a moment’s peace when they’ve been on the field.

  7. 'Close game suits Chiefs'published at 02:17 Greenwich Mean Time 12 February

San Francisco 49ers 10-6 Kansas City Chiefs

Ryan Fitzpatrick, former NFL quarterback, on Sky Sports: The longer this game stays close, the longer this game stays low-scoring, then advantage to Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs

The Chiefs settle for a field goal, and it's a long one for Harrison Butker but he's got a great leg and hr drills a low drive just over the bar from 57 yards.

And if you've been paying attention you'll know that's a new super Bowl record for the longest field goal, eclipsing Jake Moody's 55-yarder from the first half tonight!

Butker's made nine straight field goals from outside 50 yards.

Steve: For all these errors, a 7 point lead is no lead at all against this team. 49ers simply have to make the opportunities presented to them count.

  11. Mahomes muscles itpublished at 02:11 Greenwich Mean Time 12 February

San Francisco 49ers 10-3 Kansas City Chiefs

Patrick Mahomes knows what's at stake as he lowers his shoulder and barges over the first down marker.

The Chiefs QB then takes off again on the next play for a big gain of 22 yards. Mahomes funnily enough is the all-time leading rusher for Kansas City in the post-season.

  12. First down!published at 02:08 Greenwich Mean Time 12 February

San Francisco 49ers 10-3 Kansas City Chiefs

Worth a mention as that's the first one of the half so far! Patrick Mahomes to Travis Kelce, obviously, as the star tight end finally gets into the game.

  13. 'A devastating blow'published at 02:08 Greenwich Mean Time 12 February

San Francisco 49ers 10-3 Kansas City Chiefs

Osi Umenyiora, former defensive end for the New York Giants on ITV: "That’s a non-contact injury for Deebo Samuel and it could be a devastating blow for the 49ers. Don't forget that is the second in this game after Dre Greenlaw. We are talking about the emotional heartbeat of this team.

"It is now incumbent upon Christian McCaffrey and Brock Purdy. "

  15. Deebo's downpublished at 02:05 Greenwich Mean Time 12 February

San Francisco 49ers 10-3 Kansas City Chiefs

Problem for San Francisco as Deebo Samuel pulls up at the end of the previous play and looks to be grabbing his hamstring area and needs treatment before limping off the field.

That's a big loss if it's as serious as it looks.

  16. Three and outpublished at 02:04 Greenwich Mean Time 12 February

San Francisco 49ers 10-3 Kansas City Chiefs

Another three and out as Brock Purdy goes long looking for George Kittle but the ball sails long.

You may not like it, but there has been some tremendous defensive play from both of these sides tonight.

Something's not right with the Chiefs offence, it's just not clicking. There's not that same convincing look in their eyes as there was last year, when they came out [after half-time] against the Eagles and got right back into the game - and that was with Patrick Mahomes having an injury.

Andrew Priestley: I can’t remember seeing a more scrappy performance from the Chiefs’ offence in the last 5 years. The 49ers defence has been excellent and Mahomes et al have been able to build next-to-no rhythm or momentum. Andy Reid is a renowned mid-game adapter though.

  19. Just shortpublished at 01:59 Greenwich Mean Time 12 February

San Francisco 49ers 10-3 Kansas City Chiefs

Travis Kelce looks to have made the first down, but he gets marked down a yard short. Andy Reid you think would challenge that, as he takes a timeout anyway to talk it over.

That's an odd move as even if he lost the challenge it would just cost a timeout, and then to make matters worse Isiah Pacheco can't get the yard needed and they have to punt.

Perhaps Reid is rattled as well? The entire offence just does not seem to be working right now.
