There have been plenty of back-up quarterbacks in action tonight, but not all back-ups are the same, and it pays to have a good one just in case.

And the San Francisco 49ers have Mac Jones to stand in for Brock Purdy, a first-round draft pick by none other than Bill Belichick at the New England Patriots in 2021 and 49ers boss Kyle Shanahan feels lucky to have him as a stand-in.

“It's great,” said Shanahan. “I mean, to be a legit back-up quarterback in this League, a number two quarterback, I believe you’ve got to be able to play like a one.

“And Mac has definitely done that a high level when he is a one, when he has been a one. He showed that on Sunday. He's shown our guys that since he's been here, so I think it didn't surprise the guys, but Mac's a real good player and feel fortunate to have him.”

The drive started in spectacular fashion - adding to their punt return touchdown and blocked punt, the Seattle Seahawks special teams pull off a 60 yard kick-off return.

Seattle are almost out of sight, and there's still 11 minutes of the second quarter left to play.

A flea-flicker play almost goes pear-shaped as D'Andre Swift's toss back to Caleb Williams is a little high, but the quarterback recovers to find Luther Burden III with a 65-yard bomb!

Talk about bag of tricks, that was spectacular.

After his 2024 season was cut short by a hamstring injury, Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is looking back to his best.

While Prescott's priority is beating the Bears and getting Dallas on a winning record, he might be aware of a potential milestone.

The 32-year-old is seeking his 18th game - and second straight - with 350 passing yards and two touchdown throws.

If he achieves it, then he will move above Tom Brady with the second most in the NFL since 2016.

Only Patrick Mahomes (21) has more games with 350 passing yards and two passing scores.
