Bit of a surprise to see Lamar Jackson air it out on first down looking for Isaiah Likely.

It's less of a shock to see him take off and get eight yards on second down when again he reads Buffalo's zone defence and spots they've sunk deep and allowed room to run.

This is the moment we've all been waiting for. Let's see if Ravens offence can do something. This is the drive of the year right now.

  3. Mr Brightsidepublished at 02:20 Greenwich Mean Time

    Baltimore Ravens 19-27 Buffalo Bills

So the customary Killers anthem Mr Brightside gets pumped out around Highmark Stadium ahead of this pivotal Baltimore drive - perhaps not the true abandon in the crowd singing their song as they know Lamar Jackson could do something pretty special here.

Buffalo should have done the tush push and got it to fourth and inches.

  5. field goal

So Sean McDermott and Josh Allen hold a board meeting on the sideline and the decision is to kick the field goal, which Tyler Bass does from 21 yards to make it an eight-point game.

McDermott will be kicking himself there as the QB sneak, tush push whatever you want to call it was probably the call on third down from the two - as they'd surely get at least a yard and then you could go for it on fourth down.

So now the Ravens still have a chance here - a touchdown and two-point conversion for the tie.

  6. Stopped!published at 02:15 Greenwich Mean Time

    Baltimore Ravens 19-24 Buffalo Bills

Josh Allen works out of the shotgun and keeps the ball on the option, but he's got no room right up the middle and he's swallowed up about four Ravens linemen and he's probably lost half a yard on that play.

Really think tush push was the way to go there on third down. DO they kick the field goal now on fourth down?

  7. Close!published at 02:13 Greenwich Mean Time

    Baltimore Ravens 19-24 Buffalo Bills

Josh Allen with that QB keeper he loves to run where he takes off right away, and he looks destined to race into the end zone only for someone, somwhere to trip him up and he's ruled down at the two.

    Tush push time?

Now it's the Buffalo Bills doing some tough running and they secure a first down on the Baltimore 10 and closing in on what would be a huge touchdown in the context of the game right now.

Under five minutes left on the clock.

The Ravens defence has to find a way to separate their emotions from this play.

They've got to go out there and make it happen right now.

There are many things you need to get right to win a play-off game in the NFL, you need a strong defence, you have to run the ball, you have to convert third downs and you have to be brave in your play calling.

But perhaps more important of all - no turnovers!

Absolutely phenomenal. What a huge moment for Terrel Bernard. Andrews was wide open, he goes for the hands and drags it in.

  12. Fumble - Bills ball!published at 02:01 Greenwich Mean Time

    Baltimore Ravens 19-24 Buffalo Bills

Out of nowhere! The third turnover today by the Ravens and it's that man Mark Andrews who is usually so sure handed but gets the ball stripped after a catch over the middle.

It was a big catch for 16 yards as well, but Terrel Bernard not only manages to force the ball loose but also has the presence of mind to then dive on the ball to regain possession for Buffalo.

    Huge, huge play!

  13. Tush push!published at 02:00 Greenwich Mean Time

    Baltimore Ravens 19-24 Buffalo Bills

Tight end Mark Andrews comes in again for the Ravens' version of the tush push, which looks just about as impossible to stop as the original Philadelphia version.

There's so many big heavy bodies on that Baltimore offensive line, and Andrews is a big dud as well so that's a lot of poundage being forced forward.

Impossible to stop when they only need a yard..

  14. Wildcatpublished at 01:59 Greenwich Mean Time

    Baltimore Ravens 19-24 Buffalo Bills

A tiny bit of trickeration from the Ravens as Lamar Jackson splits out wide and Derrick Henry takes the direct snap in the wildcat formation, but he's tackled just short of the first down.

This Ravens defence is doing a nice job of plastering to these players. That's what you need to do when Josh Allen is back there because every inch of this field is open.

    NFL play-offs

No wonder this game is tight, after playing 17 games against a lot of different opponents, these two teams ended up with exactly the same points difference.

A pretty impressive one as well.

  17. field goal

Field goal - Billspublished at 01:55 Greenwich Mean Time

    Baltimore Ravens 19-24 Buffalo Bills

Josh Allen sees two passes go wide of the mark, possible pass interference on the second one but nothing too glaring, so Buffalo opt to kick the field goal, which is a long one.

Tyler Bass hits it beautifully though and converts from 51 yards to extend the lead to five - and that's not a comfortable lead given how Baltimore ran the ball on their last drive.

Lovely move from James Cook, in a foot race to get to the edge and turn the corner, but noticing he's not getting there sticks his foot in the turf and cuts back, ducks under a tackle and dives over the line to gain for another first down.
