We all know Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson were both drafted in the same year, but did you know they made their NFL debuts in the same game?

Back in Week One of the 2018 season the Ravens hammered the Bills 47-3 with both of the then back-up quarterbacks coming in for the latter stages of that contest.

The two have been linked to and compared with each other ever since - but who'll come out on top tonight?

Each guy needs a Super Bowl and needs to beat Patrick Mahomes.

Right now Mahomes isn't Mount Rushmore but he's up there by himself until they can get past him and win a Super Bowl.

If they do that, their legacy changes overnight.

Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley speaking to NBC:

"The elements were great but the atmosphere was even better. Our fans are amazing, that was a close one but that's play-off football. At the end of the day we got the job done.

"When you have a quarterback who can take it 50 yards to the house that opens up stuff for you too.

"We wanted 300 yards tonight but we only got 285, so we've got to do a better job next week."

"We found a way to win, that's all that matters at this time of year. When I used to play the video games as a kid, I used to put the snow on 100!"

On his knee injury: "I don't know if I can answer right now. I want to go and enjoy this win with the team. I finished the game."

Once again, they proved the immovable object in the Divisional Round.

So the winners here tonight will be heading to face the Chiefs next week, but who will it be?

  7. Jackson posts fourth-best passer ratingpublished at 23:26 Greenwich Mean Time 19 January

Baltimore Ravens @ Buffalo Bills (23:40 GMT)

Lamar Jackson has claimed career-best passing stats across the board - even better than when he won his second MVP last season - finishing second in the league for both touchdown passes and fewest interceptions.

His passer rating for the season was also 119.6, the fourth-best all-time behind Aaron Rodgers (122.5 and 121.5) and Peyton Manning (121.1).

Josh Allen has not posted career-best passing numbers, but he has been far more efficient, showing better decision-making and ball protection. He has given up the fewest interceptions (6), sacks (14) and fumbles (5) in his career.

    It’s absolutely everything.

Co-MVP choices - heads says Jackson, tails says Allen.

There is such pressure on Buffalo here. Their season has ended here on their own turf in the past two seasons – to the Chiefs last year and demolished by the Bengals two years ago.

You’ve got to keep advancing with a superstar quarterback like that.

If they don't, I wouldn't be surprised if there is a coaching change in Buffalo.

  9. Why Jackson needs to add Super Bowl to his CVpublished at 23:22 Greenwich Mean Time 19 January

Baltimore Ravens @ Buffalo Bills (23:30 GMT)

There have been seven different winners of the NFL's season MVP award over the past 11 seasons.

Lamar Jackson won the award for the second time last season, and he and Josh Allen are the leading contenders to be named this season's MVP.

But if Jackson wants to be considered in the highest echelon of all-time quarterbacks, it's clear what he needs to do - win a Super Bowl.

Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes have done both, and that is what separates them from Cam Newton and Matt Ryan.

The Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders will fight it out for the NFC Championship next week, but who will complete the line-up by going to Kansas City in the AFC?

Well, why don't we find out....

  11. Weather 'definitely had an effect'published at 23:21 Greenwich Mean Time 19 January

Los Angeles Rams 22-28 Philadelphia Eagles

Philadelphia Eagles defensive back Darius Slay - former team-mate of Matthew Stafford - speaking to NBC:

"I told them [his team-mates] that the best thing they can do is stay tight to their coverage, because Stafford can make any throw on the field.

"(The weather) definitely had an effect on the game, especially as a defensive back!"

Two evenly matches sides just served up a snowy treat for us in Philadelphia, with the difference being in big plays and turnovers - two of them by the Rams and none by the Eagles, the turnover battle is always crucial in the play-offs.

Saquon Barkley scored on two huge touchdown runs of 62 and 78 yards as part of his monster 205-yard rushing performance. Jalen Hurts added his 44-yard rushing score in an otherwise quiet outing.

Those big plays, and those turnovers turned the game in Philly's favour, but they still neded their defence to come up big right at the death.

They'll host the Washington Commanders next week for a place in the Super Bowl!

Hands down, Jalen Carter (Eagles defensive tackle) took over that last drive. His affect on that game was game-changing, that's what you want from an elite first round pick.

  14. 'Most dramatic finish'published at 23:15 Greenwich Mean Time 19 January

Los Angeles Rams 22-28 Philadelphia Eagles

    Greg Brady
NFL pundit on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

It was the most dramatic finish.

The Eagles go back to where they were two years ago when they had no problem beating San Francisco 49ers at home.

A divisional match-up now as well against the Washington Commanders.

What a game to start us off next Sunday.

  15. Full-time - Eagles survivepublished at 23:13 Greenwich Mean Time 19 January

Los Angeles Rams 22-28 Philadelphia Eagles

Philadelphia were cruising when Saquon Barkley put them 13 points up with this second touchdown with less than five minutes left to play.

But that late flourish from the Rams gave the entire stadium a fright and it really looked like he'd complete the job when he led his side down inside the Eagles' 20-yard line.

A penalty followed by a sack from an exhausted Eagles defence then came up trumps right at the death to finish the job for the Eagles.

Puka Nacua takes a stunner! It's a deep ball down the right sideline and the talented wideout rises high, plucks the ball out of the air and gets two feet down in bounds for a massive 37-yard gain down at the Philly 21.

  20. Almost picked off!published at 23:06 Greenwich Mean Time 19 January
