Touchdown - Commanders!published at 01:59 Greenwich Mean Time

    Washington Commanders 10-7 Detroit Lions

Brian Robinson punches it in at the second attempt! He was stuffed and lost a yard on first down, but the big guys up front do a better job of making a hole second time around for him to find paydirt.

Yes, they got a helpful penalty, but it's still a big-time drive from these visiting underdogs, who now lead in Detroit.

If no-one’s open, Daniels has so much confidence in his legs, to scramble out of the pocket and make positive yards. That allows the offence to make a lot of explosive plays and that pays dividends in the fourth quarter when the defence is tired.

    Washington Commanders 3-7 Detroit Lions

Jayden Daniels can't find a touchdown pass on third down, but there's flag thrown in the end zone as Terry McLaurin was tripped over and the pass interference call gives them a fresh set of downs from the one-yard line.

    Washington Commanders 3-7 Detroit Lions

Fourth and three from the nine - and of course Washington go for it, and Jayden Daniels completes it to veteran tight end Zach Ertz right over the middle who takes a tough catch down at the two.

Ertz took a shot on that play and goes off the field as they try to punch this in.

One of the things the Lions have done well - It's about making sure everybody in that building is coached to the same level. A lot of those back-ups to back-ups are now starters, and they understand the fundamentals. As long as you've got good communication you'll be alright.

Field goal - Commanderspublished at 01:41 Greenwich Mean Time

    Washington Commanders 3-7 Detroit Lions

Zane Gonzalez nails his kick from 47 yards to get Washington on the board. Easy to say now but they would've only been a point behind had they kicked it earlier.

They've moved the ball well though on the two opening drives.

  18. Dropped!published at 01:39 Greenwich Mean Time

    Washington Commanders 0-7 Detroit Lions

Jayden Daniels with a bullet over the middle for Dyami Brown who looks to have gathered it but he just can't keep hold under intense pressure.

Big time throw from Daniels in the face of the blitz, but after it's dropped Washington will go for the field goal this time.

  19. First downpublished at 01:36 Greenwich Mean Time

    Washington Commanders 0-7 Detroit Lions

Third down and 10 for Jayden Daniels and Washington spread them out with five wide receivers, and the protection is excellent so the rookie finds his man for a first down.

With accuracy like Daniels has, any kind of time in the pocket usually results in a completed pass.

As you watch this offense there's a lot of motions but at the core of it it's bully-ball. They were like 'feel our wrath. Instead of biting kneecaps we're going to run through your kneecaps'.
