We've had five rounds in the men's shot put final. Just one more throw each for these competitors to improve their distances.

Leonardo Fabbri is still well ahead in the gold medal position, while GB's Scott Lincoln is fourth.

And Fabbri has just gone even better than his 22.12m benchmark! He's thrown 22.45m with his fifth effort - a new competition record!

    Women's discus final

Sandra Elkasevic clearly has history in her sights. With her first throw of the final, she hits 67.04 metres - a season best distance.

Germany's Marike Steinacker, European leader this year, is not going well - she is 11th after two throws.

    Women's discus final

Sandra Elkasevic, formerly Sandra Perkovic, has her eyes set on achieving history this evening.

The Croatian already has six European outdoor titles to her name.

Should she win a seventh tonight, the 33-year-old would set an outright record for most gold medals in the history of the European Athletics Championships.

    Men's shot put final

Back in the shot put, a huge fourth throw from Scott Lincoln - 20.88m.

That moves him up to fourth in the overall standings. Does he have anything left in the tank to boost him into medal contention.

A final, deserved word for Jade O'Dowda.

She finished third in the 800m, to seal seventh place overall in the heptathlon.

In an event where we thought she might get overshadowed by Katarina Johnson-Thompson, she has held her own and secured an impressive finish in a very high quality field.

    Not bad.

Noor Vidts wins the 800m discipline, that will secure her a medal - but it looks like just being bronze.

Auriana Lazraq-Khlass of France, after an exceptional competition, comes home fifth in the 800m - that is enough for a superb silver.

Time for the final event in the heptathlon - the 800m.

All 16 heptathletes still in competition will race at once. It will save time, but make for a busy track.

Nafi Thiam is well on course for gold, remember.

What a moment for Romell Glave. He has had to wait a really long time, he’s had injuries, whether he would run for Jamaica but ultimately ending up in the GB and NI vest and performing when it matters.

It was a little bit congested in the early stage of that race but he pulled himself through.

    Men's 100m semi-finals

Sweden's Henrik Larsson (not that one) qualifies for the final, second in that heat behind Glave. Robin Ganter of Germany, who came third, goes through as a fastest loser.

Matteo Melluzzo, the Italian who ran the first 100m in the aborted first running of that semi, ended up pulling up with what looks like a muscle issue. A nightmare evening for him.
