    Target 183

After Akeal Hosein gets the first ball to drift back and beat Phil Salt on the angle - the ball just missing leg stump - the opener gets England up and running with a single pushed to the right of mid-off next ball.

Everyone is unanimous in their conviction that England need to get off to a flier because in those middle overs it's going to be difficult to come in and boom sixes.

Akeal Hosein is poised to bowl the first over of the innings for the West Indies.

Right, we're almost ready for the start of the England chase as the openers walk out to the middle.

It's Phil Salt and Will Jacks for the visitors, with the fit-again Jos Buttler set to come in at three.

The target is 183, the previous highest successful chase on this ground in T20Is is 172. But records are there to be broken and all that...

That is not unbeatable but to get there they will need something very big and England have those players. Tough job though.

Amid the frustration at letting West Indies recover from 117-8 to post such a strong total, there were some positives for England.

Not least, the performance of Saqib Mahmood. The Lancashire seamer took three wickets in the powerplay and then came back to take a fourth in a superb over at the death.

Had it not been for him, the tourists could be chasing a fair few more.

Gudekesh Motie's 33 (14) is the sixth highest T20I score from No.10, and the third highest for a Full ICC Member nation. The highest, Akeal Hosein's 44* (16), was also against England on this ground.

This has to be one of the best tail performances in a while. I thought they would be lucky to make 100 at one point!

    Thanks, Matt.

An all too familiar story for England then, allowing the opposition tail to wag having got themselves into a good position.

It looks a challenging total - in fact, it would be a record T20I chase on this ground - but with Jos Buttler back, the tourists will certainly not be giving this one up lightly.

England were sitting comfortably but now they have a huge task on their hands.

Sam Drury will take you through the chase.

England are short on form, confidence and would struggle to win a raffle at the moment. WI have to fancy themselves from hereon.

Good to see the T20 side preparing themselves perfectly for McCullum's arrival by failing to polish off a tail. He'll feel right at home.

What is with England and opposition ninth wicket partnerships? Disastrous against Pakistan and now here!

    Argh.

Sam Curran starts the last over on Romario Shepherd's hip. It gets what it deserves with fine leg up.

Gudakesh Motie scored 31 runs from his first nine balls. The only time a batter has scored more runs in the first nine balls for the West Indies was Kieron Pollard, v Sri Lanka back in 2021, who scored 32 off nine - in the same match when he hit Akila Dananjaya for six sixes in an over.
