100 up for Lancashirepublished at 14:35 British Summer Time 30 June

    Lancashire 100-2 v Notts

Dillon Pennington in to George Bell and the batter works it down fine. It is given as a leg bye, but the run takes the total up into three figures.

Pennington is into his 11th over already today. A good sign ahead of a prospective Test debut that here is a bowler happy to take on a good workload.

  2. wicket

WICKET Stokes c Roderick b Allison 56published at 14:34 British Summer Time 30 June

    Durham 160-6 v Worcs

    Massive wicket for Worcestershire!

Ben Allison bangs in a shot ball and Ben Stokes swivels looking to hook it through square leg.

He only succeeds in feathering it through to wicketkeeper Gareth Roderick.

Stokes stands there for a moment, disappointed with either the decision or the shot, but he has too drag himself off.

Bas de Leede joins Graham Clark.

  3. Postpublished at 14:34 British Summer Time 30 June

    Somerset v Warwickshire 143-4

Four more runs to Ed Barnard, forward to Jack Leach to scoop the left arm spinner through wide long on.

The 100 partnership for the fifth wicket with Will Rhodes comes in 153 balls.

The pressure is being transferred onto the host team, who have lost momentum since lunch.

  4. 50 runs

50 partnershippublished at 14:33 British Summer Time 30 June

    Gloucestershire 161-9 v Glamorgan

The last pair of Marchant de Lange and Ajeet Singh Dale are having lots of fun as Gloucestershire's last wicket have so far added 57.

De Lange has 36 off 29 balls with some lusty hitting in there.

Glamorgan won't be worried but there may be some growing irritation in their ranks.

  5. wicket

WICKET Lawrence c Harmer b Bosch 6published at 14:31 British Summer Time 30 June

    Surrey 47-2 v Essex

    Bish, bash bosh.

One ball after that off-driven four Dan Lawrence is out.

Eathan Bosch draws Dan Lawrence into a forward defensive and that's a stunning catch off the edge by Simon Harmer, lurching almost at right angles to his right, grabbing the ball just above the turf.

One England squad memeber is replaced by another as Jamie Smith comes to the crease.

  6. 50 runs

50 for Keaton Jenningspublished at 14:29 British Summer Time 30 June

    Lancashire 89-2 v Notts

Keaton Jennings flicks one down to fine leg and that brings his half century.

The 2,000 inside Trafalgar Road are very appreciative of his efforts across 93 balls. They will hope for plenty more.

  7. Postpublished at 14:28 British Summer Time 30 June

    Surrey 47-1 v Essex

There's a bit of seam, swing and carry for the Essex bowlers on an Oval pitch that has been gradually losing a greenish colour since this morning.

Jamie Porter is a touch leg side to Dan Lawrence, who keeps the strike with a glance into the on side.

Eathan Bosch continues with brisk pace from the other end but there's enough width for Dan Lawrence to leave the ball.

Bosch strays into the pads with one ball but that's stopped by Jamie Porter at mid wicket.

Shot! A tad full and driven through wide mid off on the front foot by Lawrence for four.

  8. 150 up for Durhampublished at 14:28 British Summer Time 30 June

    Durham 152-5 v Worcs

Graham Clark (13) has been happy to play the anchor role as Ben Stokes accelerates, but gets in on the act with his first boundary of a patient knock.

It moves Durham past the 150 mark with five wickets in hand, and takes the partnership to 51.

The hosts were 55-4 this morning, remember.

  9. wicket

WICKET Albert c Leaning b Evison 20published at 14:26 British Summer Time 30 June

    Hampshire 56-3 v Kent

Joey Evison is thrown the ball for Kent and after conceding a boundary to Toby Albert off his second ball, he gets his man off the fifth ball.

There is a bit of width and Albert chases it, slashing it to second slip and it's smart work from Jack Leaning.

    A good wicket for Kent.

  10. 6 runs

Postpublished at 14:24 British Summer Time 30 June

    Lancashire 84-2 v Notts

The first maximum of the match.

Dane Paterson is a bit short and Keaton Jennings takes it on with a fierce pull. Jack Haynes is interested out at deep midwicket, but it is over his head and in amongst the spectators.

The Lancashire captain now has 45.

  11. 'This is the Ben Stokes that people know and love'published at 14:24 British Summer Time 30 June

    Durham 147-5 v Worcs

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

This is the Ben Stokes that people have come to know and love over the years.

He's struggled with the bat in his previous couple of games for Durham but he's hit 10 fours.

  12. 50 for Ben Stokespublished at 14:23 British Summer Time 30 June

    Durham 147-5 v Worcs

Ben Stokes wasn't in control of that hook, but it flies to the third man boundary for four as Ben Allison bangs one in short.

But he's in full control there as Allison strays down leg and Stokes helps it on its way for a second four of the over.

A single off the last ball keeps him on strike and moves him to 49.

Then a nudged single off Matthew Waite brings up his first 50 of the season off 73 balls - and the 52nd of his career.

  13. Postpublished at 14:23 British Summer Time 30 June

    Somerset v Warwickshire 137-4

He deserves a fourth wicket at some point.

Migael Pretorius beats Will Rhodes defending outside the off stump and remains the most threatening of the Somerset bowlers today.

He'll be cross with the second ball of his latest over though, full leg side and clipped through mid wicket by Rhodes for four.

Jack Leach comes on for Josh Davey at the other end and his first ball is confidently swept square on the front foot by Ed Barnard for four.

Barnard gets back and across to try to flay the ball through the off side but can't break through the field this time.

  14. 50 runs

50 up for Hampshirepublished at 14:22 British Summer Time 30 June

    Hampshire 52-2 v Kent

Afternoon cricket is under way at Utilita Bowl and we have the lovely sight of James Vince driving Nathan Gilchrist away for four.

There is a textbook flourish and finish from the Hampshire captain. That's why we love to watch him bat.

He will be feeling good after that 166 not out at Edgbaston last week.

And that drive is even straighter - four more. Vince now has 21 with five fours as the 50 comes up.

  15. Postpublished at 14:17 British Summer Time 30 June

    Lancashire 75-2 v Notts

Some tight stuff from the Notts bowlers after the wicket of Josh Bohannon, so Keaton Jennings is thrilled when Dane Paterson offers welcome width and he crunches it through the covers for four.

Lancashire going at little above two runs per over at the moment.

  16. wicket

WICKET Sibley c Elgar b Bosch 24published at 14:16 British Summer Time 30 June

    Surrey 41-1 v Essex

Eathan Bosch is really ticking here and gets Dom Sibley to reach for the ball outside the off stump.

    Got him this time!

Sibley drives with a big flourish of the bat and edges chest high to a diving Dean Elgar at first slip.

Hmm. Dan Lawrence is in at three today.

He's been in at six before this round.

    Retaining the right-left combination perhaps.

  17. Postpublished at 14:14 British Summer Time 30 June

    Somerset v Warwickshire 125-4

Four runs to Will Rhodes but they're streaky runs!

Migael Pretorius squares the batter up but the ball runs away off the outside edge past a diving second slip.

Frustrating passage of play for the host team.

Four more to Ed Barnard at the other end, staying in the crease to hammer Josh Davey through point.

Davey tries to push the last ball through cover but it's been picked up on the ground at short extra.

Well that, didn't last long - 27.4 overs to be precise as Jordan Thompson (4-31) dismisses Zak Chappell for a battling 18 to leave rock-bottom Derbyshire all out for 76.

Vishwa Fernando was the star for Yorkshire with 5-30.

It's demoralising, particularly after choosing to bat, but still some distance from their worst first-class score.

They were castled for a measly 16 by East Midlands rivals Notts at Trent Bridge, way back in July 1879.

Elsewhere in Division Two, second-bottom Gloucestershire are teetering on the brink at 128-9 against Glamorgan, and Ryan Higgins has three wickets to leave Leicestershire on 118-7 against Middlesex.

And leaders Sussex are 107-5 against Northants.

  19. Postpublished at 14:11 British Summer Time 30 June

    Surrey 39-0 v Essex

Four slips in place for Eathan Bosch.

Sibley misses a flashing drive as Bosch foxes him with a brisk out-swinger.

Dom Sibley subsequently defends down the pitch.

The fifth ball finds the outside edge but runs away wide of a diving third slip for four.

  20. 50 runs

50 for Will Rhodespublished at 14:06 British Summer Time 30 June

    Somerset v Warwickshire 115-4

That's his fourth score of 50 or more this season with a top score of 178 not out made in the second round against Durham.

    87 balls with seven fours.

He gets to the landmark with a front foot clip to square leg off the bowling of Josh Davey.
