    Hampshire 234-3 v Kent

Joey Evison serves up an over that costs 10 runs, including back-to-back fours for James Vince.

Now the Hampshire captain slog sweeps Matt Parkinson for another boundary. The wheels may well have come off for Kent now.

What does Daniel Bell-Drummond do now?

  2. Division Two latestpublished at 17:40 British Summer Time 30 June

Middlesex continue to shed wickets at Leicester as the Foxes look to forge a sizeable first innings lead, despite compiling just 179 in their knock.

A fourth wicket from Ben Green and Ben Mike's third and fourth have left the promotion chasers reeling on 82-8, exactly 97 behind.

A 21st wicket of the day - yes you heard right - has fallen in Northampton as Sussex opener Daniel Hughes falls for the second time and his work with the willow is done on day one. Sussex are 28-1 and lead by 74.

An unbeaten half-century from James Wharton is putting Yorkshire in a strong position against Derbyshire.

In another wicket-heavy match, Yorkshire are 174-5, already 98 runs ahead.

And Glamorgan have slipped to 106-5 against Gloucestershire.

    Somerset v Warwickshire 307-7

The new ball hasn't yielded the sought after eighth wicket for Somerset since the new ball was taken at the 80-over mark.

But there's a moment of indecision from Chris Woakes, withdrawing his bat to a Craig Overton ball a whisker or two outside off.

Michael Burgess moves to 84 with a swivel pull to square leg off Josh Davey.

  4. wicket

WICKET Green lbw b James 9published at 17:35 British Summer Time 30 June

    Lancashire 228-6 v Notts

Australian Chris Green is making his Championship debut for Lancashire and he produces a classic Aussie-style shot punching Lyndon James off the back foot through the covers for four.

But James has his man next ball, going very full and trapping Green plumb LBW.

Tom Bailey is the next man in for Lancashire, very much the start of a long tail.

  5. Postpublished at 17:35 British Summer Time 30 June

    Surrey 170-5 v Essex

    Maiden from Simon Harmer.

Ryan Patel is forward to Paul Walter, defending into short extra cover.

Another maiden. Essex are controlling this game but will need to dislodge Jamie Smith tonight to fully take charge of this match.

    Smith is unbeaten on 81.

  6. Bears pass 300 at Tauntonpublished at 17:31 British Summer Time 30 June

    Somerset v Warwickshire 302-7

Michael Burgess drives on the front foot with a full flow of the bat through cover for two and that shot takes the eighth-wicket stand to 50 in 73 balls.

Four more runs to Chris Woakes, driving Craig Overton through cover point and from the depths of 40-4, the Bears have fought back hard to earn a second batting bonus point.

  7. wicket

WICKET Hose b Siddle 0published at 17:28 British Summer Time 30 June

    Durham 190 v Worcs 71-4

Peter Siddle produces a beauty and the Pears are suddenly four down.

The Australian is into his final match for Durham but looks as good as ever as he picks up a second wicket.

Adam Hose ends up playing down the wrong line as Siddle gets one to move away a touch and his off stump is sent flying.

A six-ball duck for Hose and Durham have taken two quick wickets after the resumption.

Ethan Brookes comes to the crease.

  8. Stokes pulls up in run-uppublished at 17:27 British Summer Time 30 June

    Durham 190 v Worcs 71-3

There's hearts in mouths for a second as Ben Stokes pulls up in his run-up.

It's a sight to make English cricket fans come out in a cold sweat. But fear not, the knee's fine.

The England skipper is stopped by his tracks by swallowing a fly. We've all been there.

It's another maiden over as he and Peter Siddle turn the screw.

An easy single for James Vince off Matt Parkinson finally sees him bring up the century that has seemed on the cards from early on.

It is a 30th of his first-class career and second of the season after his 166 not out against Warwickshire last week.

He and Ben Brown have now put on 152 for this fourth wicket.

  11. ouch!

Porter struck on the handpublished at 17:25 British Summer Time 30 June

    Surrey 170-4 v Essex

Essex are looking to the spin of Simon Harmer to get the breakthrough and has Sai Sudharsan playing inside the line with bat behind pad, but the batter survives the over.

The fifth wicket partnership is up to 69.

Jamie Smith gets a single off Jamie Porter, who waves the physio on to the field after appearing to take a stinging blow to the finger fielding a drive struck by Sai Sudharsan.

He's leaving the field with two balls left in the 51st over.

    Paul Walter will take over.

  12. 'Kent haven’t made the most of winning the toss'published at 17:24 British Summer Time 30 June

    Hampshire 201-3 v Kent

    Kevan James
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

Charlie Stobo and Grant Stewart aside, Kent haven’t really made the most of asking Hampshire to bat first.

Nathan Gilchrist is still recovering from an ankle injury and hasn’t really bowled enough balls in the right place.

Joey Evison, too, hasn’t backed up the two main bowlers.

This has left Kent relying chiefly on Matt Parkinson’s leg breaks to keep the run rate in check when they should be looking to take wickets.

There is a green tinge to the wicket but the bowlers haven’t really created enough pressure over a long period of time.

  13. 'Balderson wicket was a timely'published at 17:21 British Summer Time 30 June

    Lancashire 214-5 v Notts

    David Lloyd
Former England batsman on BBC Radio Lancashire

The George Balderson wicket was a timely one for Nottinghamshire.

  14. new ball

New ball taken at Tauntonpublished at 17:18 British Summer Time 30 June

    Somerset v Warwickshire 291-7

Another tidy over from Tom Lammonby, costing just two singles.

That's 80 bowled in the innings and Umpire Rob Bailey signals that the new ball has been taken straight away.

    Josh Davey will bowl.

  15. wicket

WICKET Jones c Lees b Siddle 15published at 17:18 British Summer Time 30 June

    Durham 190 v Worcs 71-3

A richly-deserved wicket for Peter Siddle.

Rob Jones looks to turn a delivery into the leg side but the Australian induces a thick outside edge.

It finds the safe hands of Alex Lees who takes his second catch at third slip.

This game continues to surge forward at pace.

Adam Hose joins Kashif Ali with the game in the balance.

  16. Postpublished at 17:15 British Summer Time 30 June

    Surrey 166-4 v Essex

A leg slip comes in for Paul Walter but Jamie Smith is blissfully unperturbed with four driven serenely through mid off.

He's very much the key wicket for both sides in this session of play.

  17. Postpublished at 17:15 British Summer Time 30 June

    Hampshire 201-3 v Kent

Two fours in three balls from Ben Brown off Nathan Gilchrist.

It feels like the wheels are wobbling on the Kent car as the 200 comes up.

  18. NORTHANTS ALL OUT FOR 97published at 17:14 British Summer Time 30 June
    Breaking

    Northants 97 v Sussex 143

This game continues to move along at the speed of light, with 20 wickets falling in less than 68 overs.

Replying to Sussex's meagre 143, Northants failed to make it into three figures, bowled out for 97, as Ollie Robinson took 4-42.

Remarkably, Sussex have a first innings lead of 46.

  19. Postpublished at 17:13 British Summer Time 30 June

    Somerset v Warwickshire 289-7

Josh Davey replaces Jack Leach in the attack and pauses after two balls to inspect the foot marks.

His third ball is driven through point by Chris Woakes for one.

Michael Burgess is well forward on the drive but can't pierce the off side field this time.

Two runs punched through the off side on the back foot.

  20. 'A real assured innings by Jennings'published at 17:12 British Summer Time 30 June

    Lancashire 208-5 v Notts

    David Lloyd
Former England batsman on BBC Radio Lancashire

Keaton Jennings has played wonderfully well.

It's been a real assured innings.

Really well organised play and solid defensively.
