Good striking from Jamie Smith, starting to find his feet nicely. He didn't look to get much of that on the splice, but such is the power of Smith.

  2. 6 runs

    Spirit 33-1published at 25 balls

    Smith 21, Williamson 10

Jamie Smith is starting to warm up. First he drives elegantly down the ground for four and then they swings a six over the leg side to cheers and roars from the Lord's crowd.

That's the powerplay done. Pretty even, you'd say.

Good batting from Kane Williamson. Matthew Potts trying a few things there. He tries to tuck up Williamson into his hip but he's so strong on the pull shot and finally times one as he would like.

  4. Spirit 21-1published at 20 balls

    Smith 9, Williamson 10

Kane Williamson, squinting into the setting sun, twice gets Matthew Potts away in a more encouraging spell for the hosts. The first is a late cut. The second is dragged behind square.

A third single digit score for David Warner at Lord's in The Hundred, following up scores of nine off 10 v Oval Invincibles and six off five v Trent Rockets.

  6. Spirit 10-1published at 15 balls

    Smith 8, Williamson 2

The signs already suggest this pitch is a bit uneven in its pace. We may not be looking at the really big scores towards 200.

Good batting by Jamie Smith. Running down the wicket. Sometimes when it is too paced, it's best to put the pace on it. And he's met that well.

  8. Spirit 9-1published at 13 balls

It's not the prettiest shot he'll ever hit but Jamie Smith has his first boundary by heaving and slicing a boundary over mid-off.

  9. Spirit 4-1published at 10 balls

This has been the problem for Spirit. Kane Williamson has got scores this year but he doesn't get them quickly. That puts a lot of pressure on Jamie Smith.

A brilliant start by the Superchargers. Been on the money from ball one. David Warner will feel unlucky there, he's come down, seen a bit of width and he's swung so hard but it's gone to deep backward point where the man is in the deep. A great bit of planning from the Superchargers.

That wicket brings in Kane Williamson.

David Warner gone for a duck! He has slashed Matthew Potts to the one fielder in the deep in the off side.

Harry Brook can give himself a pat on the back for the field placings. Potts' strong tournament continues.

A good start from Jacob Duffy. Used the slope to his advantage and didn't give David Warner and Jamie Smith much opportunity for any freebies. Northern Superchargers will be happy with that.

  14. Spirit 1-0published at 5 balls

    Smith 1, Warner 0

It's a good start from New Zealand's Jacob Duffy - the number one T20 bowler in the world. Superchargers also have no.2 in the rankings in their line-up too in England spinner Adil Rashid. Impressive.

For now, though, it's going to be Duffy and Matthew Potts. Everyone's favourite Australian opener David Warner is on strike.

Jacob Duffy is going to take the new ball in the sunshine, bowling to Jamie Smith.

London Spirit shuffled their top order in their last home game, with Jamie Smith smashing 52 off 34 as an opener alongside David Warner as the Spirit put on a winning score of 162-5 batting first.

Smith's aggressive Powerplay style compliments the more conservative Warner perfectly, with Smith striking at 160 in the Powerplay in the Hundred compared to Warner's 109.

  19. Superchargers win the toss and bowlpublished at 18:15 BST 20 August

Northern Superchargers captain Harry Brook has won the toss and has chosen to have a bowl.

Among his attack are England bowlers Adil Rashid and Matty Potts.

London Spirit won the toss in the women's fixture, chose to bat first and went down to an eight-wicket defeat - Brook goes for a different approach.
