  1. Ind 292-4published at 73 overs

    Lead by 298

Loosener from Ben Stokes and KL Rahul cuts it powerfully through point for four.

A single brings Karun Nair on strike, he's on a pair and patiently leaves ball after ball as Stokes tempts him just outside off.

Time for another over, or two, before tea.

  2. Ind 287-4published at 72 overs

    Lead by 293

Breakthrough made and Ben Stokes decides it is time to reintroduce a seamer.

The seamer he opts for? Himself.

A little under 10 minutes until tea, can England get another wicket in that time to make themselves feel a bit better after a bruising session?

Brilliant innings. Towards the end Pant accelerated. At the beginning of the day, he just soaked up the pressure.

He is such an entertaining batter to watch. There is no other method than the way that he wants to play.

Well done Bashir, he just kept his cool there. Pant went for another big hit that didn't come out of the middle of the bat.

    What entertainment.

'Didn't get hold of it' - Crawley takes catch to dismiss Pant for 118

Rishabh Pant's fun is over - the end of a magnificent knock.

It's well bowled by Shoaib Bashir, who held his nerve, and this time Pant mistimes it as he tries to clear the rope at cow corner.

The ball carries out to Zak Crawley and he holds on to a simple catch a few yards off the boundary.

England needed that but is it too little, too late?

Rishabh Pant has now scored five Test centuries against England, no wicketkeeper has scored more centuries against a single opponent in Test history.

He's also only the second wicketkeeper to score twin centuries in a Test match after Andy Flower vs South Africa in Harare, 2001.

Pant is on the attack against Root. He is taking the game away from England here.

  8. 6 runs

    Ind 285-3published at 71 overs

Yep, Rishabh Pant the blocker is no more.

He hammers Joe Root down the ground for four and follows it up by smearing the ball over extra cover - just over the boundary cushion for six.

A vicious sweep in front of square adds four more to his total as he moves past KL Rahul's score and takes India's lead close to 300.

    That is an extraordinary achievement.

Just remember when Pant came in, the game was in the balance. It's been a brilliant partnership from these two. He is one of the players that you are on the edge of your seat not knowing what he is going to do.

  10. Ind 266-3published at 70 overs

    Lead by 272

Right then. The dramatic wait for Pant to reach three figures is over, I think it's safe to assume we'll see the return of the batter who smashed his way up to 95 now.

A magnificent hundred and a swirl of the bat. That is super.

'Super, super, super!' - Pant reaches magnificent century

Twin tons for Rishabh Pant at Headingley!

Just the second wicketkeeper to score two hundreds in the same Test match. A magnificent innings from an extraordinary player.

He gets there with a single chopped into the off side to bring up a 130-ball century - his eighth in the format.

No somersault celebration this time but he gives a bow to the Leeds crowd.

  13. Ind 263-3published at 69 overs

    Lead by 269

Five more balls but just one more for Rishabh Pant, he's on 99.

After an arm ball from Joe Root narrowly misses the off stump, Pant misses out on a full toss.

He just cloths it into the leg side and has to settle for a single.

Solidly defended by Rishabh Pant. He stays on 98.

The man has got us all on strings.

Four balls left in the over, Rishabh Pant on strike.

Will we see the big shot this time?

It's been a mighty stand by the Rahul and Pant partnership but, for now, the talk is Pant getting his hundred.

  20. Ind 258-3published at 67 overs

Rishabh Pant really is toying with everyone here, nudging and nurdling his way towards three figures after bludgeoning his way up to 90-odd.

Four singles from Joe Root's over. KL Rahul on strike to start the next.
