You can sense Southern Brave closing in here, they have a wall of fielders on the off-side.

The crowd are enjoying seeing that pressure being built.

  2. Fire 57-5published at 30 balls left

    50 runs needed

Alex Griffiths is the latest batter to hurry out of the Fire dug-out.

She takes a single down to long-on to get off the mark.

Sarah Bryce was trying to access the fine-leg region. It wasn't the worst idea but it was not executed at all. Slightly unlucky really.

  4. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 32 balls left

    Bryce b Corteen-Coleman 1 (Fire 56-5)

    Oh dear.

Sarah Bryce steps right across her stumps to try and send Tilly Corteen-Coleman's delivery through fine leg.

She's left her stumps massively exposed and when she misses the ball the inevitable happens.

Pretty dismal stuff - Fire have now lost four wickets for six runs.

  5. Fire 55-4published at 35 balls left

    52 runs needed

Sarah Bryce takes a single square off her first ball.

Two new batters at the crease - Georgia Elwiss is at the other end - after Fire lost three wickets from nine balls.

That was like a moth to a flame that ball. The boundaries are so big here and hard to reach.

There is a lot to be asked of the new batters now and they need to be running through those wickets if not finding boundaries.

It has been a disappointing tournament with the bat for Hayley Matthews. Welsh Fire are falling in a heap.

  8. wicket

    Matthews c Villiers b Adams 16 (Fire 54-4)

It's just catching practice from Welsh Fire right now!

Hayley Matthews picks up two runs with a lofted shot down the ground that plugs in the outfield, but gets herself out from the following delivery.

It's a pretty similar dismissal to Tammy Beaumont's, with Georgia Adams' ball heaved out to Mady Villiers at deep mid-wicket.

Hayley Matthews is averaging just 22 in this year’s competition and is yet to pass fifty.

This is her lowest batting average of any year of the competition and her only year without a half-century scored.

That was another pressure shot from Welsh Fire. They do not need to do that.

The batters need to give themselves time and work with their partners. Or just get Hayley Matthews on strike.

Jess Jonassen cannot believe it. It was there to be hit anywhere she wanted.

  12. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 40 balls left

    Jonassen c Kemp b Bell 1 (Fire 52-3)

Another one down inside the set!

Bell's delivery sits up well for new batter Jess Jonassen, short and wide, and the Australian simply lashes it straight to Freya Kemp at point.

    Are Fire beginning to crumble?

That didn't bounce too hard but Tammy Beaumont tried to clear the boundary. She could have hit the ball hard along the floor by twisting her wrists and she has paid the price.

Mady Villiers has some of the best hands in the field.

  14. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 44 balls left

    Beaumont c Villiers b Bell 28 (Fire 50-2)

    Pressure told?

It's a big hack into the leg side from Tammy Beaumont to a Lauren Bell delivery that kept a little low.

Mady Villiers takes a comfortable catch at deep mid-wicket - a 16th dismissal of the season for Bell.

Beaumont walks off for 28 - easily her highest score of the season.

  15. Fire 50-1published at 45 balls left

    57 runs needed

Sophie Devine comes back and goes for three singles, the last of which, a Hayley Matthews shot to mid-wicket, bring up the visiting side's half-century.

The Fire batters are still struggling to crack on - having scored 22 off the first 15 balls of the innings, they've added 28 from the next 40.

This game feel interestingly poised. The batters are currently scoring under a run a ball and the dots are building.

  17. Brave review - not outpublished at 50 balls left

    Fire 47-1; 60 runs needed

Hayley Matthews picks up her first four, striking Mady Villiers through the covers off the back foot.

Brave then put in for a review after Tammy Beaumont is struck on the pads by Villiers' final delivery.

Replays show there was a tiny knick off the bat first - the home side lose their review.

Georgia Adams is very good at controlling situations. She has had a lot of experience as a captain despite being fairly young.

She has a very skiddy arm action as a bowler and you feel like she can make something happen.

  19. Fire 40-1published at 55 balls left

    67 runs needed

Brave captain Georgia Adams brings herself on to bowl and she concedes just one single as Hayley Matthews sends the ball to mid-wicket.

Just seven runs off the last 15 balls.
