Summary

  1. Eng 164-3published at 34 overs

Harry Brook has got his eye in now, from a mere 10 balls.

He flicks one off his legs for a couple before nailing a cover drive to the ropes.

  2. Postpublished at 18:28 British Summer Time 10 July

This was the scene when Zak Crawley trudged off after being bowled by Jayden Seales. Ominous, although it's since brightened up.

  3. Eng 158-3published at 33 overs

Harry Brook gets off the mark with a single off Jayden Seales, who is in the middle of a decent spell.

England are just easing their way towards the close, which is later than usual because of the bad light delay.

    A beauty.

  5. Eng 154-3published at 32 overs

    Lead by 33

He's fine to continue, and finishes a steady over with just one from it.

West Indies have a big opportunity here with Brook yet to score and Root on just six.

    He's smiling so that's a good sign.

He is key to this fast bowling unit.

It seems that there is a problem for Shamar Joseph. Is it a strain or a pull?

    If it's cramp it's a different situation.

Shamar Joseph has gone down with a bit of cramp, I think. He's got a smile on his face so hopefully it isn't too serious.

The West Indies physio comes out to give his legs a shake.

Five of Zak Crawley's last six 50-plus scores, he's been out in the 70s.

Not the worst problem to have.

  10. Postpublished at 18:14 British Summer Time 10 July

Crawley was playing so well, it was going to take something special to get rid of him and Jayden Seales obliged.

  11. Eng 153-3published at 31 overs

Harry Brook is in at five, and is greeted by a short ball - but it's wayward, and he can easily let it go through to the keeper.

What a delivery. Full, in-swinging and the removal of the foot at the last minute saved Crawley's big toe but ruined his stumps.

Beautifully bowled, that is what Seales has been looking for for some time.

  14. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 30.5 overs

    Crawley b Seales 76 (Eng 153-3)

Or not! Jayden Seales fights back with a stunner.

After he dropped too short with the previous ball, Seales gestured while walking back to the crease that he should've gone fuller.

And he does so in style, searing a yorker into Crawley's toes that he plays all around and loses middle stump.

    England's opener departs for a classy 76.

  15. Eng 153-2published at 30.4 overs

This is getting pretty demoralising for the West Indies.

The ball isn't doing as much without the cloud cover, and England have eight wickets in hand, plenty of time, and look prepared to just bat and bat and bat.

Zak Crawley pulls emphatically for four.

That bad light delay feels like a long time ago. Lord's is now bathed in lovely evening sunshine as Zak Crawley and Joe Root settle back in after drinks.

    Frustrating for Alzarri Joseph.

Another chance created but not enough runs on the board so fewer fielders in catching positions as a result.

The ball has gone through the vacant third slip area.

    Beautiful stroke from Crawley.

Any width now and Crawley is just throwing the bat.

  19. Eng 148-2published at 30 overs

    No stopping that either.

Zak Crawley whips Alzarri Joseph away through mid-wicket for four - that absolutely rocketed along the ground to the boundary.

The England opener's next two fours of the over are rather less elegant, a thick edge passing the gully fielder - the first to their left, the second flying through the air to right, beating the dive.

Brathwaite sticks in a fielder at third.

A trademark shot for Joe Root. Most people would think that's a bit close to him but he finds a way to get it to the boundary.
