It's been a good start with the ball but they have got to keep that discipline going, they cannot afford to waste the pressure that has built because they haven't got the runs on the board.

It's reward for good persistence from Jayden Seales. He has been driven through the covers a few times but he has probed away and kept his discipline.

He has had some injury troubles, and you can see how much that wicket meant to him with the celebration.

  4. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 7.2 overs

    Duckett c Da Silva b Seales 3 (WI 29-1)

Duckett didn't look comfortable today, and now he has to go.

Seales' opening delivery beats his bat, but his second takes a feather edge to Joshua Da Silva behind the stumps.

The England opener dropped into a low crouch attempting to drive the delivery, but couldn't make full contact and he has to watch Seales wheel away in celebration.

  5. Eng 29-0published at 7 overs

Crawley whips Alzarri Joseph through mid-wicket for fourth four of the innings.

Contrasting fortunes for the England openers - Crawley has 24 from three, Duckett three from 11.

  6. Eng 23-0published at 6 overs

Crawley offers a leading edge off the bowling of Jayden Seales, but it drops short of the point fielder.

The West Indies will be pleased they're creating half chances, at least.

These two are rotating the strike really well, which is something the West Indies didn't manage. They would go several overs without adding to the score and that built the pressure, which eventually led to the flurry of wickets.

  8. Eng 21-0published at 5 overs

Four more for Crawley, standing up straight and slapping Alzarri Joseph past mid-on.

He picks up two more in the covers to close the over.

Again, that's the difference between the two teams. England are a very good side, West Indies are still striving to reach their level.

It was hit very firmly but it was at a comfortable height. He looks very disappointed in himself.

  12. dropped catch

Duckett dropped on onepublished at 4.3 overs

    Eng 13-1

    Should be gone!

Ben Duckett cuts straight to the Mikyle Louis at backward point, but the debutant spills the chance.

It was hit hard and a little low, but you'd have expected him to hold on.

West Indies' bowlers have started very well, they've been disciplined. They just need the fielders to back them up.

Now that is just where Zak Crawley likes it!

  15. Eng 11-0published at 4 overs

Consecutive fours for Crawley, one fortunate, one delightful.

The first is an edge that slides away past the slips, the second his favourite booming drive after Jayden Seales delivered right in the slot.

Meanwhile let's take a moment to enjoy Gus Atkinson's triple wicket maiden from the first innings.

It feels like it is now a very nice afternoon to bat.

  18. Eng 3-0published at 3 overs

The England openers exchange singles from the opening deliveries of Alzarri Joseph's second over, while Duckett almost chops the final ball of the over down on the stumps.

The sun is most definitely out at Lord's now, by the way. You could almost believe it's summer.

  19. Eng 1-0published at 2 overs

Jayden Seales starts with a maiden to Zak Crawley, who now has one run from his first eleven deliveries.

No doubt the England opener will be looking to up that strike rate.

England will have a lead by the end of the day if they don't lose wickets. West Indies have got to take early wickets and take all their chances if they are going to take any momentum into day two.
