Danny Briggs bowls a short ball to Keith Barker, who dabs the ball away for a single and keeps the strike.

The batters trade singles for the first couple of balls, nudged into the leg side.

    Notts 220-7 v Somerset - tea

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

In the afternoon session Nottinghamshire have added 109 for the loss of four wickets so it's fair to say it's been Somerset's session, thanks mainly to Kasey Aldridge.

  5. Tea at Trent Bridgepublished at 15:53 23 June

    Notts 220-7 v Somerset

Shot! Migael Pretorius drops short and Calvin Harrison pulls the ball from just outside off stump through mid wicket for four.

He was on a single off 21 balls oat one point.

Harrison is forward to Leach to block out the last over before tea.

Somerset have bossed most of the session, in which they took four Notts wickets for 109.

But they're still resisting with Harrison now 16 not out and Olly Stone unbeaten on 12.

  6. Milestone for Leespublished at 15:51 23 June

    Durham 267-3 v Essex

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Alex Lees has just notched his 26th century in first-class cricket, but had the keeper not dropped a ball off Simon Harmer earlier in the session, things may have been a lot different.

Lees was on 77 when he left his crease and missed the ball. But the ball then popped out of Michael Pepper's gloves when there was a stumping to be had.

He was almost run out not long after that, but lived to reach three figures.

Ollie Robinson has notched his seventh half-century of the season and has 52 runs at tea with Durham 267-3 after 64 overs.

  7. Postpublished at 15:50 23 June

    Warwks v Hants 217-6

Hampshire's hopes rest with Liam Dawson and Keith Barker now.

Craig Miles is over the wicket to Dawson, who clips the ball away for a single.

Barker picks up one more with a leg side clip that nearly rolls away for four after a mis-field in front of the Hollies Stand.

    It costs two runs.

  8. Division Two updatepublished at 15:49 23 June

Northants lose their sixth wicket against Glamorgan as Justin Broad is caught off James Harris for one. Liam Patterson-White joins Lewis McManus and they are 184-6.

Middlesex must regroup following the loss of Leus du Plooy and are now 180-4 against Derbyshire following a Ryan Higgins boundary, which takes him to 37 not out.

  9. Tea at Chelmsfordpublished at 15:45 23 June

    Essex v Durham 267-3

And Alex Lees' century brings up tea at Chelmsford.

    Notts 214-7 v Somerset

Jack Leach is going to have another bowl.

Can he break through this Notts tail?

Calvin Harrison is forward to block. The next ball is nudged just short of Tom Banton at short leg.

Harrison sees out the over, defending a shorter, quicker delivery on the back foot.

    A tidy maiden over.

  11. Tea at Scarboroughpublished at 15:43 23 June

    Yorkshire 220-0 v Gloucestershire

    Jonathan Doidge
    BBC Radio Leeds cricket commentator

    That's Finlay Bean's fifth first-class century.

Just 22 years of age and playing just his 40th first-class innings.

It's not a bad strike-rate, one in eight.

He's worked very hard for this, it's took him a while to get off the mark.

A very good young talent and he's thoroughly deserved his 100.

  12. 100 for Durham's Leespublished at 15:42 23 June

    Essex v Durham 267-3

A "proper" County Championship century from Alex Lees.

More than 180 balls faced but the Durham opener has really put his side in a string position at Chelmsford.

  13. 100 for John Simpsonpublished at 15:40 23 June

    Sussex 252-5 v Leics

    John SimpsonImage source, Rex Features

Moving from Middlesex to Sussex has certainly reinvigorated John Simpson.

A single to mid-on off Lewis Goldsworthy secures Sussex's first batting point and he nudges Wiaam Mulder away for two in the next to go through to his fourth hundred of the campaign.

This one has taken the left-hander 135 balls and featured 16 fours.

  14. WICKET Fuller c Rhodes b Miles 4published at 15:40 23 June

    Warwks v Hants 213-6

It's four and out for James Fuller.

One ball after slapping Craig Miles to the point boundary off the back foot, Fuller drives off the back foot and smacks the ball to Will Rhodes at cover point.

Time for Danny Briggs to have a bat.

  15. WICKET Brown c Burgess b Miles 32published at 15:38 23 June

    Warwks v Hants 209-5

This is another big wicket for Warwickshire, who may yet deny Hampshire a batting point.

It's a soft dismissal as Ben Brown tries to glance a leg side ball from Craig Miles and offers low, wide chance to the keeper.

    James Fuller is in next.

  16. Postpublished at 15:37 23 June

    Notts 207-7 v Somerset

Migael Pretorius replaces Kasey Aldridge in the attack as Somerset seek to break through the Notts tail.

He concedes just one run without creating any chances.

Jake Ball tries to tempt Calvin Harrison to play wide of off stump but Harrison leaves it.

  17. 100 for Finlay Beanpublished at 15:35 23 June

    Yorks 216-0 v Gloucs

Leg-spinner Ed Middleton tries to hurry one onto Finlay Bean, but the Yorkshire opener has time to turn it away for one run, which takes him to 100 off 184 balls.

It is the fifth century of his career and improves a conversion rate which was 50% before this game.

For anyone of a statistical bent, they need to extend this partnership to 275 to set a new club first-wicket record against Gloucestershire.

  18. WICKET Du Plooy c Guest b Thomson 57published at 15:33 23 June

    Middx 171-4 v Derbys

Leus du Plooy gives himself room against spinner Alex Thomson but is caught in two minds and checks the shot he originally envisaged.

In the end, he just jabs at the ball and is caught behind by Brooke Guest. A disappointing way to go.

  19. Postpublished at 15:32 23 June

    Notts 206-7 v Somerset

Now then. Runs are starting to flow after a long lull.

Calvin Harrison drives Kasey Aldridge confidently down the ground for four and in the next over (the 58th) Olly Stone takes his team past 200 runs with a superb straight drive of his own off Jake Ball.

Three more runs come off the over.

    It's not over...till it's over.

  20. Hampshire pass 200 four down at Edgbastonpublished at 15:29 23 June

    Warwks v Hants 201-4

Liam Dawson is back and across to Danny Briggs, hammering the spinner through point for four.

Craig Miles bowls to Ben Brown from the Birmingham End.

His fourth ball is short and pulled away for four to take Hampshire past 200 in the 55th over.

Jacob Bethell appeared to have the ball covered but dived over the ball.
