  1. NZ 118-7published at 25 overs

Another Charlie Dean over, another Charlie Dean wicket. Although, having just seen a replay of Hannah Rowe's demise, a hypothetical review would only just have stayed with the umpire's call.

Nice shot from Jess Kerr to end the over, though. Brings her a boundary through the covers.

  2. wicket

    Rowe lbw b Dean 0 (NZ 111-7)

That is as out as they come. Even had New Zealand retained a review, I don't think they'd have used it there.

Brilliant from Charlie Dean. Brilliant from England.

Remember, New Zealand were 56-1 after the Power Play.

  3. NZ 111-6published at 24 overs

Two off the first and then five dots.

Halliday has a bit of a conundrum here. There is still so much time left in this innings. But then she doesn't want to run out of partners. But then this pitch offering a bit to the spinners and England haven't even turned to Sarah Glenn yet. But then. But then. But then.

  4. NZ 109-6published at 23 overs

Love Charlie Dean as a bowler. Gives it some proper flight and is just such a cool operator for one so young. Except, that is, when she is playing cards - not the most gracious of Monopoly Deal winners so I'm told!

Risky shot at the beginning of the over, but it does take the pressure off the next five balls.

  6. NZ 108-6published at 22 overs

Boundary off of the first from Brooke Halliday, albeit one not without risk. Tidy from Ecclestone thereafter.

By the way (belted out in my best Red Hot Chili Peppers voice), New Zealand have no reviews remaining. They have, in the words of Phil Long, burned them. I like that Phil - very dramatic.

  7. NZ 103-6published at 21 overs

A couple of counter punches thrown by New Zealand, but England swing right back. Dean and Ecclestone now have 3 for 32 between them from eight overs thus far. Tidy.

That's smart bowling. Dean's taken the pace off, trying to counter the batters coming out of their crease. I can see what Gaze was trying to do, looking to release the pressure, but against high-quality spin it is difficult.

  9. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 20.3 overs

    Gaze lbw b Dean 12 (NZ 103-6)

Well what an eventual half-over that was. First up, Charlie Dean went through her action without actually having a ball in hand. Her smile soon disappeared when Isabella Gaze took back-to-back boundaries off balls one and two. But the grin was back again a delivery later: Dean's standard off-break crashed into Gaze's front pad and, following a hopeful review, the batter is trotting off. New Zealand in real trouble here.

That looks pretty good to me.

    No bat involved.

  12. New Zealand reviewpublished at 20.3 overs

Isabella Gaze is trapped by Charlie Dean. On field decision is out.

Right, I'm off for a quick breather after all those wickets. Can New Zealand rebuild? Or will England blow the White Fearns away? Sam Dalling is on hand to tell you more.

Lauren Filer has misjudged that. It was a difficult chance but I don't think she picked the trajectory early enough.

  15. NZ 95-5published at 20 overs

Close! Isabella Gaze chips Sophie Ecclestone down the ground but there's not a whole lot of conviction and Lauren Filer almost gets fingertips on it at mid-off.

A few balls later and Brooke Halliday opens her shoulders to Ecclestone and picks up a welcome boundary down the ground.

That will make Brooke Halliday feel a lot better.

Nice use of the feet, a change of approach from her. She had to try something different so I'm pleased to see that.

  17. NZ 86-5published at 19 overs

The pressure valve is released after 12 balls without a scoring shot as Brooke Halliday feels emboldened enough to skip down the pitch to Charlie Dean and thrash the ball through the covers.

This is difficult for New Zealand. They have lost four wickets, their best and most experienced batters are gone, and now the middle order is in the rebuilding phase against two of the best spinners in the world.

New Zealand made a positive start. Lauren Filer was the only bowler to get anything out of the pitch at the beginning.

But as is so often the case, Sophie Ecclestone's introduction changed the course of the game.

  20. NZ 80-5published at 18 overs

Brooke Halliday and Isabella Gaze are looking to rebuild here, but that will not stop Sophie Ecclestone from giving the ball a bit of air attempting to winkle another wicket.

    Back-to-back maidens for England.
