Sophie Ecclestone into the attack for England.

  2. NZ 64-2published at 11 overs

New New Zealand batter Sophie Devine is straight on the front foot as she counter attacks with back-to-back boundaries off Nat Sciver-Brunt.

That's a horror piece of running! Comfortably out in the end.

    Plimmer run out Bouchier/Jones) 29 (NZ 56-2)

Meanwhile, England have got a bit of bonus as New Zealand opener Georgia Plimmer is run out in rather bizarre fashion.

Amelia Kerr drills one straight and sets off but the ball deflects Georgia Plimmer's bat to Maia Bouchier on the leg side.

Plimmer ends up well short of her ground by the time Amy Jones whips off the bails.

Happens to the best of us, Kirsty.

A slight abdominal injury, of course.

Poor Kate Cross and her 'slight abominable injury'. I take it predictive text is to blame for this in the live feed on the BBC Sports app.

  7. NZ 54-1published at 9.1 overs

Georgia Plimmer uses the pace of Lauren Filer to tickle a push off her pads for four through mid-wicket. It's a nice shot, but a risky strategy stepping across her stumps bringing the lbw into play.

  8. NZ 50-1published at 9 overs

Suzie Bates has been and gone, but she was able to capitalise on some freebies for England at the start of New Zealand's innings.

Amelia Kerr punches Nat Sciver-Brunt off the back foot to bring up 50 for the White Fearns.

New Zealand will be very happy with the start. They've put away some poor bowling at times. They've been reasonably comfortable out in the middle and they'll be feeling pretty happy with their position at the minute.

  11. NZ 46-1published at 8 overs

"Yess Eccy" bellows Amy Jones after Sophie Ecclestone dives to cut off a straight drive from Amelia Kerr at mid-on.

England have tightened things up in these past few overs after a sloppy start.

Lauren Filer has that little something about her. We've talked a bit about her inconsistency but she's looked buttoned on today.

  13. NZ 45-1published at 7.2 overs

Lauren Filer twice hits Amelia Kerr on the back pad with balls which nip back into the right-handed batter. The England seamer is really hitting her straps now.

England will be concerned with the amount of extras. They conceded 31 wides in the victory over Pakistan at Derby, and they've had four already in this game.

  15. NZ 41-1published at 6.4 overs

A bowling change for England as Nat Sciver-Brunt, who Heather Knight said will not bowl her full allocation, is brought into the attack.

She draws a big booming drive from Georgia Plimmer, but the Kiwi opener does not make contact prompting gasps from the England fielders.

Sciver-Brunt's next delivery sticks in the pitch and pops up off Plimmer's bat only to fall safe.

I always think that competition is really healthy. You know you have to perform, you have to improve, because if you don't, someone is going to nick your spot.

Two more dots make that a maiden from Lauren Filer as Georgia Plimmer defends and leaves.

That's the length that England have got to hit - a hard ball that skids through. She's done Suzie Bates on length and pace truth be told.

Find a line and length that hits the stumps: it's a simple game really.

  19. NZ 40-1published at 5.4 overs

Four dots from Lauren Filer to start her third over.

Filer is into the side today because Kate Cross is struggling with a slight abominable injury.

Here's how she claimed the wicket of Suzie Bates a few moments ago.
