Smart bowling from Sharif. He's pulled his length back and doesn't give Mehran any room to free his arms.

  2. wicket

    Mehran c Cross b Sharif 13 (Oman 132-6)

Sharif strikes with the final delivery of the over.

It's a decent length and Mehran is beaten by the pace. He nicks it and Cross gobbles it up behind the stumps.

Mehran strikes a good ball, and he's very confident in his approach.

  4. Postpublished at 17.3 overs

Mehran Khan gets a quick single after his ribs are tickled by Safyaan Sharif.

He follows it with a beautiful drive over the bowlers head and it's another boundary.

  5. Oman 124-5published at 17 overs

Just as we say that, Mehran Khan decides to tee off. It bounces just in front of the rope and it's ends up being nine off the over.

Oman like defending a decent total, according to Qasim Sheikh. They're on their way.

Scotland will take singles here all day long.

If that continues, we could restrict Oman nicely. They need boundaries here.

  7. Oman 118-5published at 16.3 overs

Chris Sole is back on and thunders his first ball wide. Mehran Khan swings wildly at it, but it bounces just in front of deep third. Half-chance.

Here's how Zeehan Maqsood fell earlier, caught by keeper Matthew Cross off Mark Watt.

  9. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 15.4 overs

    Athavale b Greaves c McMullen 54 (Oman 114-5)

Chris Greaves come in as Oman enter their final five overs with the ball. His second is a big full toss which he gets away with.

His fourth tempts Athavale into a big slog but he doesn't catch it well, and Brandon McMullen runs in to dive and catch with his finger tips.

    A much needed wicket.

    Qasim Sheikh
    Ex-Scotland batter on BBC Sounds

It should be 110-6 right now, but a couple of chances have gone begging.

Scotland will be disappointed, while Oman are well placed for a five-over smash.

  11. Oman 113-4published at 15 overs

A reverse sweep now from Ayaan Khan which bounces just once before going over the rope. He is feeling more confident!

Oman have picked it up in the last two overs. They're projected to make 151 at the moment. That's not bad at all.

  12. Missed stumpingpublished at 14.2 overs

Another big chance for a wicket. Mark Watt sees Ayaan Khan come down the pitch, the ball evades the batter but Matthew Cross fumbles the ball.

It won't be a stumping and it really should be. Two golden opportunities go sailing by for Scotland.

    Lydia Greenway
Former England batter on BBC Sounds

    That could be very costly.

It's a bread and butter catch, that should really have been taken by George Munsey.

  14. 50 runs

50 for Pratik Athavalepublished at 14 overs

Michael Leask begins a new over and Ayaan Khan finally gets lucky, edging a streaky boundary. That might give him some confidence.

Athavale gets back on strike and goes high with the final delivery... and it goes for six when it really shouldn't have done.

George Munsey was underneath it, but it goes through his hands and over the rope.

    That's a huge mistake.

  15. Oman 92-4published at 13 overs

Athavale gets a quick single to take him up to 48, but Scotland won't mind it. Ayaan Khan is back on and he's really struggling to get going.

At the end of that over he's got seven off 16 balls, and a quick single on the sixth means he's on strike again for the next over.

  16. Postpublished at 12.2 overs

More indecision from the Omani batters means we're going upstairs for another run out review. Once more, it's on the safe side.

Ayaan Khan almost ran Athavale out there. That would have been disastrous.

  17. Oman 89-4published at 12 overs

Michael Leask is back on for an over. He gets through them quickly, and it's an extremely quick maiden...

Or not. His sixth delivery is a wide. His seventh should have been a dot but he misfields. A bit sloppy that, after five great balls.

  18. 6 runs

    Oman 87-4published at 10.6 overs

Chris Sole bounces his final ball of the over, and Athavale pulls it high, high and over the rope.

That is a superb shot from the Omani opener. He's nearing his 50.

  19. Postpublished at 10.2 overs

    Thank you, George.

We'll start with the fiery pace of Chris Sole. His first is a dot, his second is a quick single which is fielded well and the throw hits the stumps.

They'll check this, but there's not a great appeal... and Ayaan Khan is well in. As you were.

  20. Kail run out in comical fashionpublished at 18:51 British Summer Time 9 June

This is how Khalid Kail was dismissed not long ago.

All a bit village from the Oman pair.
