  1. NZ 114-4published at 20 overs

    Target 224

Mitchell and Bracewell have settled things down. New Zealand are looking comfortable as the latter drives for four at the end of Jamie Overton's over.

Will a change of text commentator make a difference? Here's Timothy Abraham.

  2. NZ 107-4published at 19 overs

    Target 224

Adil Rashid bamboozles Michael Bracewell again with a delivery identical to the one a few overs ago. When he hits that spot with the googly, Bracewell looks all at sea.

  3. NZ 104-4published at 18 overs

Need 120 more runs to win

Jamie Overton hits the pad for the first time in a little while but it's too high for there to be a serious appeal. Harry Brook hasn't turned to Sam Curran yet. He could use Jacob Bethell's spin too.

  4. NZ 101-4published at 17 overs

    Mitchell 28, Bracewell 19

Bracewell's flurry will help Daryl Mitchell too. He can play the anchor role while his partner is going well.

  5. NZ 100-4published at 16.4 overs

Two more boundaries from Bracewell, this time punishing Adil Rashid. It won't take much to swing the momentum entirely his side's way given the small target.

  6. NZ 92-4published at 16 overs

Jamie Overton would likely have been one of those using this series to build up to the Ashes had he not taken a break from Tests at the start of September. Instead he'll head to Australia to play in the Big Bash.

He bangs it in halfway down here but Bracewell is quickly onto it. The left-hander thumps a four through mid-wicket.

  7. NZ 86-4published at 15 overs

Need 138 more runs to win

Even the exuberance of a diving Jacob Bethell in the deep cannot step Daryl Mitchell taking four on the sweep from Adil Rashid. He nailed that in fairness.

Mitchell's dad was leading the Red Roses to victory in the Women's Rugby World Cup last month. I wonder if he's watching.

That died on Joe Root, but it looked a regulation catch, which he should have taken.

  9. dropped catch

Bracewell dropped on 2published at 14 overs

    Oh, Joe.

England's greatest takes these in his sleep. It's a decent nick straight to him at first slip. He seems to not fully get his feet right as he awkwardly falls forward.

    Michael Bracewell should be out.

The wicket of Tom Latham was a huge moment. It was a delivery which just straightened off the surface from Brydon Carse and one which broke what was a dangerous-looking partnership for New Zealand.

Jamie Overton is coming on for a bowl, having played an important hand with the bat.

  12. NZ 71-4published at 13 overs

    Mitchell 17, Bracewell 1

Michael Bracewell plays down Bakerloo to one on the Central line from Adil Rashid to end the leggie's second over. He did not pick it.

  13. NZ 69-4published at 12 overs

    Target 224

Michael Bracewell is New Zealand's number six. He may not be a frontline batter but he does have two ODI centuries, including a 140.

He almost manages to run himself out in his first over.

  14. wicket

    Latham lbw b Carse 24 (NZ 66-4)

Brydon Carse is at it again! It's another full ball - not quite a yorker but right up there. When Tom Latham misses it he's bang in front.

England have their fourth, three of which have gone to Carse. That's a big un.

  15. NZ 65-3published at 11 overs

    Target 224

Leg-spinner Rashid beats Tom Latham with one delivery but the other five are played well by Tom Latham and Daryl Mitchell. Latham gets down low enough to sniffs his bootlaces and sweeps. Mitchell nudges into the leg side.

England have got more seam movement than New Zealand in the first 10 overs, but considerably less swing.

    Avg degree of swing: England - 1.03° v New Zealand - 1.40°

    Avg degree of seam: England - 0.89° v New Zealand - 0.84°

Here's your answer. The powerplay is done and Adil Rashid is immediately brought into the attack.

  18. NZ 59-3published at 10 overs

Need 165 more runs to win

Having got a little giddy after the three early wickets, WinViz has tipped back in New Zealand's favour at the end of the powerplay. I wonder how early Harry Brook will turn to Adil Rashid.

There is no point holding him back until the game is done.

Edged past the stumps for four. Frustration for England. More runs for Tom Latham.

  20. NZ 53-3published at 9 overs

    Target 224

    Shot.

Daryl Mitchell has been restrained so far but here he biffs Luke Wood back over his head for four in imposing fashion.

The required run-rate of 4.17 is still perfectly manageable for New Zealand.
