This has been a decent partnership. Annabel Sutherland has got to kick on and get some runs.

If they do lost another wicket in the next few balls however, it's not the end of the world as they still have Bess Heath to come.

  3. Superchargers 84-3published at 60 balls

Brilliant diving stop in the covers from Hayley Matthews to deny Annabel Sutherland a boundary.

She can only parry it, though, and good running means the Superchargers pair are able to get back for two.

Sutherland then hits aerially towards long-off as Katie Levick tosses the ball up but it bounces just short of Sophia Dunkley.

Close again to end the set, sliced into the off side by Hollie Armitage and it is just out of reach of the diving Matthews.

    Time for a strategic timeout.

Sarah Bryce was very late on that. She was not expecting the bouncer. She had a finger on it but she wasn't waiting for it.

That surprised her as much as the batter.

  5. Superchargers 80-3published at 55 balls

    Armitage 7, Sutherland 25

Georgia Elwiss surprises wicketkeeper Sarah Bryce, who is stood up to the stumps, with a bouncer.

It means when Annabel Sutherland ducks under it, Bryce can do nothing to stop the ball racing away for four byes.

Superchargers still have Bess Heath and Georgia Wareham to come, so they have a decent batting line-up. Kate Cross can hit a few as well.

  7. Superchargers 73-3published at 51 balls

Sliding down leg from Georgia Elwiss and that's a gimme for Hollie Armitage, who just helps it around the corner for four.

  8. Superchargers 69-3published at 50 balls

Despite that boundary, it's a good 10-ball set from Hayley Matthews.

Just nine runs from it as we reach the halfway stage of the innings.

It's all pretty evenly poised at the moment.

  9. Superchargers 67-3published at 47 balls

Annabel Sutherland holds the key to this Superchargers innings and she looks in the mood.

The right-hander moves across her stumps and sweeps up and over short fine leg for four.

  10. Superchargers 62-3published at 45 balls

Dot ball to end the five from West Indies star Hayley Matthews and she'll bowl five more.

Superchargers skipper Hollie Armitage is the new batter.

Davina Perrin did not quite get the full pitch of the ball. She wasn't able to hit fully through.

It was still a big hit to try and clear the rope but she didn't get enough to clear Ismail. A good knock from Perrin without taking the game away for the Superchargers.

  12. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 44 balls

    Perrin c Ismail b Matthews 21 (Superchargers 62-3)

    Caught in the deep.

Davina Perrin tries to go big but doesn't get hold it and offers a simple catch to Shabnim Ismail, coming in off the rope from long-on.

Hayley Matthews, bowling from round the wicket, strikes with her fourth ball.

A perfect shot. Australian against Australian.

That went straight over the umpire's head and it went crashing into the advertising board. Perfect shot from Annabel Sutherland.

  14. 6 runs

    Superchargers 60-2published at 40 balls

Shot of the day so far from Annabel Sutherland!

The Aussie advances to her international team-mate Jess Jonassen and hits the ball straight as an arrow over the bowler's head for six.

I am interested to watch Davina Perrin today. She is in a lot of form.

You wonder if she has the shots to get off strike when she needs to. If the ball is not there to be hit for four, can she find a way of just getting off strike? She hasn't so far.

  16. Superchargers 53-2published at 37 balls

Drag down from Jess Jonassen and Davina Perrin gleefully pulls it into the gap on the leg side for four.

Easy pickings for the 18-year-old opener.

Losing early wickets was also a recurring problem for Northern Superchargers last season, losing a tournament high 14 powerplay wickets in seven games at an average of 13 in the 2024 competition.

  18. Superchargers 47-2published at 35 balls

Tidy set from the experienced Georgia Elwiss.

Just the three runs from it to help drag things back after those misfields led to an expensive previous five balls.

  19. Superchargers 44-2published at 30 balls

Katie Levick is indeed on to bowl and the leg-spinner will not be best pleased.

Two boundaries in her first five balls and both because of misfields.

The first from Annabel Sutherland gets through Sophia Dunkley at mid-off and then the second from Davina Perrin should be a dot ball but Tammy Beaumont makes a mess of it in the covers.

It is no surprise to see Katie Levick coming on to bowl. For me it is from the wrong end, I would like to see her bowl from the other end.

Freya Davies is more experienced so that might be why.
