  1. SL 252-7published at 78 overs

    Target 483

Milan Rathnayake survives the rest of the over.

His captain at the other end will be begging him to hang in there until tea.

    Hard luck, Ollie. 8-0.

    At least he is smiling.

  3. Not outpublished at 77.3 overs

    Nope.

It's missing leg stump, and Ollie Pope keeps his 100% record of failed reviews as captain.

He hasn't hit it, but it might be missing leg.

    Bashir liked that.

  6. Eng reviewpublished at 77.3 overs

Keep going, Ollie. Maybe eventually a review will go your way.

"Just do it," is Harry Brook's advice, as England ask for a second look at an lbw on Milan Rathnayake.

  7. SL 250-7published at 77.1 overs

You'd like to think so, Eddie.

The fifty partnership comes up as Dhananjaya de Silva takes a single off Shoaib Bashir.

Are they bowling short just to extend the game? Surely hitting the stumps would be a better idea as it worked for the top order!

This is too predicable and easy.

  10. SL 249-7published at 77 overs

    Target 483

Dhananjaya de Silva continues to read the short ball well, pulling Olly Stone firmly in front of square for four more.

Stone then goes fuller, but Milan Rathnayake just drills it through the covers for the same result.

These are signs that Stone might need a rest. It's his first Test back in a few years and he's been asked to keep banging it in, which is particularly tiring work on a docile pitch.

Sri Lanka are now over halfway to their target, so that's something!

  11. SL 240-7published at 76 overs

    Target 483

Another great shot from the Sri Lanka skipper, nailing a sweep for four before guiding one past the slips for three more.

It's a lengthy chase for Harry Brook, who does well to save a run after a full-length dive down at deep third.

My favourite shot of the day, this. Maybe even the entire Test.

    A cracker.

I like this. Let Bashir float a few up.

  14. SL 231-7published at 75 overs

    Target 483

England continue with the bouncer barrage but the batters are unmoved.

Another quiet over, with Sri Lanka just plodding towards the tea break. The new ball is also due in five overs, so England turn back to Shoaib Bashir.

  15. SL 230-7published at 74 overs

    Target 483

He can do it all, by the looks of it.

Solid in defence from Rathnayake, withstanding a Matthew Potts maiden.

This is a very attacking short ball field from England.

  17. SL 230-7published at 73 overs

    Target 483

    And again!

Rathnayake was struck in the head by Stone a few overs ago and he's decided since then to try and play it, rather than duck out of the way.

He pulls four more past square leg.

Ben Duckett thought he was in the game for a moment there but it flew over his head.

  19. SL 225-7published at 72.2 overs

    Hello!

Milan Rathnayake whacks Olly Stone for back-to-back fours. The first is a pull shot that just loops over Ben Duckett at square leg, the second an authoritative punch through the covers.

    Keep 'em coming.

  20. SL 217-7published at 72 overs

    Target 483

Ollie Pope continues to rotate his seamers, with Matthew Potts coming in to the attack.

The over ends with a glorious lofted drive for four by Dhananjaya de Silva, hitting straight through the line and holding the pose with a bit of swagger.

Shot of the day, I reckon!
