  1. WI 89-4published at 13 overs

West Indies are back in trouble and it is Sherfane Rutherford sent out there to join Roston Chase to try and remedy that situation.

Three runs and a single from Keshav Maharaj's over.

The West Indies skipper's stay is a short one.

A bit of flight from Keshav Maharaj and that draws Rovman Powell forward.

The ball dips then rips past the edge and when Powell overbalances, Quinton de Kock is there to whip off the bails.

He'd have liked to have gone on with a better strike rate, but his side were 5-2, he's set a decent platform for them to double what they're on now from the last eight overs.

Just as the West Indies were building up a head of steam...

Kyle Mayers advances but Tabraiz Shamsi sees him coming and throws this one wide.

Mayers reaches for it and gets it over the in-field but, aiming for extra cover, he slices it behind square and Tristan Stubbs takes the catch.

  6. WI 85-2published at 11.4 overs

    Six!

Is this the over that kickstarts the West Indies innings?

Roston Chase hits this one flat over mid-wicket for a maximum.

That's the first boundary in a while, it's relieve a bit of tension. From now on the West Indies will want to score at seven or eight an over.

  8. WI 78-2published at 11.2 overs

Four much-needed runs for West Indies!

Kyle Mayers goes after a ball wide of off from Tabraiz Shamsi and hits up and over cover, into the gap for four.

Nortje has very good pace, very good control - that's what you want to see from a fast bowler.

  10. WI 73-2published at 11 overs

As well as Kyle Mayers and Roston Chase have done to recover the situation from 5-2, West Indies need a big second 10 in this innings.

So getting just four from Anrich Nortje's over is not ideal.

There is plenty of intent but not so much in the way of timing and placement.

The rate is down under seven. West Indies will want to up the tempo.

Back-to-back very good overs for South Africa.

Tabraiz Shamsi backs up Anrich Nortje with another set only costing three singles.

Good start from the left-arm wrist-spinner and it's time for drinks.

  13. WI 66-2published at 9 overs

    Mayers 28, Chase 31

Plenty of spin in the early overs but it's time for some real pace now as Anrich Nortje comes on.

The fast bowler hits the pitch hard and gets up above 90mph during the over - a good one that goes for only three singles and ends with a sharp bouncer.

  14. WI 63-2published at 8 overs

Aiden Markram finishes off his over after that delay and the Proteas skipper is bowled out.

He finishes his four overs with figures of 1-28. With Marco Jansen off for now, it's good for South Africa that Markram has already given them a full allocation.

I think if that was football then Rabada would be off for a high tackle.

Good news. Both players are up and walking but Marco Jansen is heading off the field for now.

Kagiso Rabada really wiped him out there.

    Oh dear.

Kyle Mayers smashes the ball back over Aiden Markram's head.

It's a real tempter for the fielders at long-on and long-off - Kagiso Rabada and Marco Jansen - but there is no communication between them.

They jump into each other and collide as the ball drops just over the rope for six.

    That looks painful.

This live text commentator is delighted to inform you that we've had a somewhat uneventful over for the first time in the match.

A chance for me to catch my breath.

But don't worry, there's no chance this match doesn't get wild again soon!

They've got to try and get a partnership going. That's more of what I like to see, using the feet to the spinner. Kyle Mayers is a big strong guy, using those levers.

An all-action powerplay ends in fitting fashion as Kyle Mayers skips down and launches Aiden Markram back down the ground for six.

That is a really meaty blow and shows what the left-hander can do if he gets going.
