That's all from us after a disappointing night for England as they fell to a comprehensive eight-wicket defeat in Bridgetown.

West Indies clinch the ODI series 2-1 on the back of hundreds from Brandon King and Keacy Carty.

You can read all about it in Adwaidh Rajan's report here.

England, who hope to have captain Jos Buttler back from injury, have a chance to respond in the T20 series which begins on Saturday.

We'll be back for that one with the toss at 19:30 GMT and play getting under way half an hour later. Be sure to join us for that!

  2. 'We always fight when we are challenged'published at 01:56 Greenwich Mean Time 7 November

West Indies captain Shai Hope: "I would have to say the dominance [pleased me most]. We asked for consistency and discipline, and that's exactly what the guys did. The main thing if you want to be an elite team is that you've got to do things consistently.

"It's a big plus for us, the work is really showing. The guys are putting a lot of work in off the field. It's a great confidence booster, especially for the batting unit and going forwards, I'm sure we'll have a lot more runs to come."

On Alzarri Joseph: "No comment. We just have to control what we can control, in a situation like that, you've just got to understand that things happen. Great to see that the guys who are called upon raised their hands and stood up."

On what Windies have learned from the series: "It shows that we always fight when we are challenged. Great to see the guys growing in confidence. We need to take the learning from the bowling side and grow as a team."

  3. 'A lot of things to learn but a lot of positives as well'published at 01:53 Greenwich Mean Time 7 November

England captain Liam Livingstone on TNT Sports: "We battled back really well [with the bat]. The boys in the middle put on a decent partnership and ended really well. Ultimately we didn't get enough runs. The boys battled really hard [with the ball]. It was pretty wet by the end [because of dew]. Disappointed with the end to the series but there have been a lot of good parts."

Asked what his squad have learned from the series: "A hell of a lot, especially the younger boys. A lot of lessons and learnings and experience of playing international cricket which will be golden for them. A lot of things to learn but a lot of positives as well.

"We are missing a lot of players. We have a lot of people to come back into the team. Hopefully the younger boys that haven't played that much international cricket have learned a lot."

Player of the match, West Indies opener Brandon King: "I have been getting starts and not carrying on. It was fortunate it came in such a crucial game.

"Once you are putting in the work you have to believe it is a matter of time.

"It was a fantastic innings by Keacy. He started very fluently. He batted better than me. He played a wonderful innings and it helped both of us get through."

As much as this match ended in a comprehensive loss for England, for those of you wanting some sort of consolation, it is worth remembering that it could have been much worse give the tourists were 24-4 at one stage.

But Phil Salt made 74, Dan Mousley hit his maiden ODI half-century and Sam Curran, Craig Overton and Jofra Archer provided useful contributions to at least give England something to bowl at.

Ultimately, though, it just wasn't enough.

Conditions for batting certainly seemed to improve significantly under lights but take nothing away from that knock from Keacy Carty.

It's a night he'll never forget as he hit his maiden international century and made sure he was there to finish the job at the end for West Indies.

The dew came in and it made it easier for batting. Keacy Carty looked desperate to do well.

England had no answers. We should applaud that partnership.

I am proud. The way Brandon King went and played was phenomenal. He and Keacy Carty showed a lot of maturity.

Keacy has been around the squad but not nailed his spot down. It is so pleasing for him and us, knowing how much of a talent he is.

Defeat for an England side missing a host of players who would expect to be included in their strongest XI.

There were positives with four debutants in the series, three of whom in John Turner, Jamie Overton and Dan Mousley produced performances that will provide some encouragement, while Phil Salt and Liam Livingstone also had moments to savour.

Ultimately, though, this somewhat experimental squad came up short as the West Indies claim a deserved series victory.

West Indies deserved that win. Not just tonight, but the series. Yes, the toss has been important in all three games, but the balance of their side has been altogether more coherent than England’s.
