Unless there's a really good over for Hayley Matthews, I can't see West Indies catching up with DLS.

I can see Hayley Matthews being stranded by her team-mates.

  5. WI 34-2published at 6 overs

    Grimmond 0, Matthews 25

    End of powerplay.

This game remains finely in the balance but there are rain clouds looming in Chelmsford.

That is the gamble you take when you are trying to get ahead of DLS - you might play a shot more aggressively than you normally would.

That is a big stride forward in the game for England.

There is a part of you that thinks 'did you need to play that sort or do you just hang about with Hayley Matthews?', but your instinct just takes over.

    Zaida James departs.

James tries to pull Em Arlott but can only find Sarah Glenn at short fine leg.

A cheap wicket to give away for the Windies.

  9. WI 32-1published at 5.2 overs

    Matthews 24, James 7

Almost a half chance for England as Hayley Matthews' late cut falls just short on Sarah Glenn at short third.

There is then a brief check for a run out as Amy Jones supberly flicks a throw onto the stumps.

Matthews is safe and then punishes Em Arlott with a brilliant boundary over the covers.

It is a wicket that is a little bit tough to bat on. West Indies are ahead of where England were at this stage but it is about how West Indies play the spin. We saw more spin in the first innings than throughout this series so it will be about how West Indies cope with that.

  11. WI 26-1published at 5 overs

    Matthews 18, James 7

Linsey Smith is on with her left-arm off spin.

Hayley Matthews goes for a big one off her final delivery but it's a swing and a miss.

Four runs from Smith's first over of the day.

Lauren Bell's found a considerable amount of movement through the air this series with an average swing of 2.25° in the powerplay, significantly higher than the 0.84° across the five T20Is in the last home summer.

There is the possibility of some rain so it will be interesting to see if West Indies try and stay ahead of the DLS throughout this innings or just bat for the 20 overs.

    Clean hitting from Hayley Matthews!

After only a single from the first four balls, Matthews sends a full-toss from Charlie Dean to boundary through extra cover.

She then follows it up with a big slog sweep to hit a maximum over mid wicket.

  15. WI 11-1published at 3 overs

    Matthews 7, James 3

Lauren Bell continues the England offensive and bowls another tidy over.

Halfway through the powerplay overs and England will be pleased with their start.

England will introduce spin next as Charlie Dean has the ball now.

Lauren Bell has six wickets in this T20I series with four of them in the first six overs. Across her T20I career, she’s taken 20 wickets in powerplay - the highest of all English bowlers since her debut.

Since her debut in the format, only Renuka Singh (28) has more wickets in the powerplay amongst pace bowlers from full-member teams.

There has been such a difference between Lauren Bell at the start of last summer and this summer. She has worked on her game so much and she's got the reward.

She has started the summer playing domestic cricket and she has got cricket under her belt and got confidence.
