    Lancs 92 & 332 v Kent 261 & 113-2 (target 164)

This is starting to look a bit ominous for Lancashire now.

Jack Leaning turns a Nathan Lyon delivery off his hip to square leg for one.

Daniel Bell-Drummond misses with a slog sweep and the LBW shout is turned down.

    51 needed.

  2. 'Not easy to take wickets at Headingley these days'published at 12:11 British Summer Time 6 May

    Yorkshire 519-7 dec v Glamorgan 221 & 220-3 - trail by 78

    Jonathan Doidge
    BBC Radio Leeds cricket commentator

The crowd came hoping, maybe expecting wickets but it's just not easy to take them at Headingley these days.

When the overheads are with you, and I think they definitely are with the batting side today as they were yesterday when Yorkshire were in as well.

So all those things have to be taken into account, although clearly the pitch has got to be significantly more worn than it was at the start of last week's match against Derbyshire.

It's the same pitch and well worn towards the periphery but if you're bowling wicket to wicket, it's clearly held up very well and not doing very much.

    Yorkshire 519-7 dec v Glamorgan 221 & 220-3 - trail by 78

Ben Coad strays down leg with his third ball of the day and Sam Northeast cashes in, flicking it off his pads for a four down to the fine leg boundary.

The final squirts off the inside edge, but it's safe enough and worth a single.

The Glamorgan skipper has 70 off 177 balls.

Matthew Revis comes on at the other end with Matthew Fisher currently off the pitch nursing an injury.

  4. Postpublished at 12:08 British Summer Time 6 May

    Lancs 92 & 332 v Kent 261 & 112-2 (target 164)

Just the one over for George Balderson. Tom Hartley is back on - bowling from the Statham End.

Daniel Bell-Drummond is forward, driving to Keaton Jennings at mid on for one.

Single to Jack Leaning glanced to the leg side and Bell-Drummond is down the track to loft the spinner through long on for four. Great shot.

A shorter ball is carved away but stopped at a short third man.

  5. new ball

New ballpublished at 12:05 British Summer Time 6 May

    Yorkshire 519-7 dec v Glamorgan 221 & 215-3 - trail by 83

With the ball into its 80th - and possibly final - over, part-time spin of Adam Lyth gets its first airing in the match.

A single from Sam Northeast and then a yelp of excitement from the former England batter as he turns one past Colin Ingram's outside edge.

Jonathan Tattersall whips off the bails but he's safely in his ground.

    New ball is taken.

Ben Coad to open with it.

  6. Postpublished at 12:03 British Summer Time 6 May

    Lancs 92 & 332 v Kent 261 & 106-2 (target 164)

Double change for Lancashire and now Nathan Lyon is bowling from the Anderson End.

Daniel Bell-Drummond clips the off spinner into the on side for one.

Jack Leaning sees out the over. Kent need 58.

  7. So far so goodpublished at 12:02 British Summer Time 6 May

    Yorkshire 519-7 dec v Glamorgan 221 & 214-3 - trail by 84

Colin Ingram sweeps Dom Bess fine down to the fine leg boundary for his 10th four to move to 64 and overtake his colleague Sam Northeast.

Northeast then takes a single to bring parity with his batting partner.

An hour down and so far so good for Glamorgan as Northeast and Ingram settle in for a long stay.

A whopping 19 overs bowled in those 60 minutes.

  8. 50 runs

50 for Daniel Bell-Drummondpublished at 12:00 British Summer Time 6 May

    Lancs 92 & 332 v Kent 261 & 105-2 (target 164)

That's his second 50 of a productive season in which he also has two centuries.

He carves George Balderson away through the off side with a flashing drive for one to reach a precious half century off 115 balls with five fours.

  9. Postpublished at 11:58 British Summer Time 6 May

    Lancs 92 & 332 v Kent 261 & 104-2 (target 164)

Nathan Lyon is back on. No injury worries there.

He's not bowling though as Lancashire captain Keaton Jennings turns to seamer George Balderson.

Jack Leaning pushes the first ball into the off side on the back foot for one.

Daniel Bell-Drummond moves to 49 with one whipped away square.

  10. Root gets a bowlpublished at 11:56 British Summer Time 6 May

    Yorkshire 519-7 dec v Glamorgan 221 & 209-3 - trail by 89

Joe Root will employ his first off-spin for the first time on Bank Holiday Monday, replacing Dom Bess.

Sam Northeast flicks the fifth ball to cow corner for three and Colin Ingram than nudges a single off the back foot.

Their partnership is now worth an invaluable 116 runs.

Bess will, in fact, continue with a change of end - now from the Howard Stand End.

  11. Postpublished at 11:54 British Summer Time 6 May

    Lancs 92 & 332 v Kent 261 & 101-2 (target 164)

Hmm. Nathan Lyon is coming off the field. No obvious signs of injury.

Two slips in for Tom Hartley, bowling to Jack Leaning.

Tom Bruce moves in to silly point.

Leaning is forward and pushes a single to off.

Daniel Bell-Drummond moves to 47 with two runs pushed down long on.

A single turned past a vacant short mid wicket takes Kent to 100 in the 36th over.

Leaning gets one to short leg to end the over.

  12. 'Leicestershire remain hopeful of a short period of play'published at 11:52 British Summer Time 6 May

    Middlesex 407-8 v Leicestershire 306

    Richard Rae
    BBC Radio Leicester Sport

An early lunch will be taken at Lord's, where the rain has stopped for the time being and the ground staff are at work clearing the covers.

Why, you might ask, given there is now no chance of any other result than the draw?

Well, Leicestershire remain hopeful of a short period of play as they need just one more Middlesex wicket to pick up a third bowling bonus point.

Middlesex, in turn, need another 43 runs to secure another batting bonus point.

Promotions have been won and lost by a point...

  13. Postpublished at 11:49 British Summer Time 6 May

    Lancs 92 & 332 v Kent 261 & 96-2 (target 164)

Daniel Bell-Drummond is forward playing round his pad as he drives to long on and gets one off Nathan Lyon.

Jack Leaning is back and across to flick a single behind square leg.

That was close to leg slip. But safe.

  14. 'Door slightly open for Lancashire'published at 11:48 British Summer Time 6 May

    Lancs 92 & 332 v Kent 261 & 94-2 (target 164)

    Ben Watts
    BBC Radio Kent

Good catch that from Nathan Lyon moving away to his right.

Ben Compton looked as if he was in his own bubble, unflappable in the situation and wasn't feeling the pressure.

He almost ran himself out, could have been caught by Will Williams and now he has finally succumbed. He ended up hitting it on the rise back to the bowler.

In the grand scheme of things, he's done a really good job for Kent.

It just slightly opens the door for Lancashire and they will feel there are more wickets out there for them.

The way it's spinning and the quality of the bowling. Stranger things have happened.

  15. Postpublished at 11:48 British Summer Time 6 May

    Yorkshire 519-7 dec v Glamorgan 221 & 204-3 - trail by 94

Oohs and aahs like it's fireworks night from the Yorkshire fielders as Colin Ingram plays a quicker ball from Dan Moriarty into the ground.

It pops up but misses the stumps and into the gloves of Jonathan Tattersall.

His next ball brings a leading edge but it drops safe.

A little encouragement for Yorkshire, but Glamorgan have taken advantage of some pleasant batting conditions so far.

Single from the over, and from the next Dom Bess over as Glamorgan cut the gap to 94.

  16. Postpublished at 11:45 British Summer Time 6 May

    Lancs 92 & 332 v Kent 261 & 93-2 (target 164)

Can Lancashire prize another one out now?

Jack Leaning leans forward to defend Tom Hartley into the off side.

He gets a single third ball.

Bell-Drummond nicks one wide of first slip but there's no run.

The Kent captain has the strike next over with a single pushed forward to long on.

  17. 200 runs

200 up for Glamorganpublished at 11:41 British Summer Time 6 May

    Yorkshire 519-7 dec v Glamorgan 221 & 202-3 - trail by 96

Dom Bess' latest delivery clips the pad of Colin Ingram and runs through for four leg byes.

And Glamorgan have brought the deficit down to double figures.

There is little numerical difference between 100 and 96, but psychologically, that's another landmark reached for Sam Northeast and Colin Ingram.

Few real alarms this morning in the first 45 minutes. So far so good.

  18. Postpublished at 11:41 British Summer Time 6 May

Great sporting theatre here at Old Trafford.

Is that caught at slip first ball?

No. The ball flicked Jack Leaning's pad only.

Leaning keeps the strike with a single off the last ball, off the back foot and turned past forward short leg.

Ben Compton is forward to block Nathan Lyon. An outside edge runs the ball safely to cover point.

Got him! Ben Compton is well forward to drive and Nathan Lyon dives to the right in his follow through to take the catch.

The new batter is Jack Leaning.

  20. Postpublished at 11:35 British Summer Time 6 May

    Lancs 92 & 332 v Kent 261 & 91-1 (target 164)

A bit of a pause in play as more crash helmets are being brought out on to the field. More close catchers?

Yes. Two close catchers in front of the bat on the off side.

Ben Compton sweeps Tom Hartley fine for one to keep the strike.
