    Yorkshire 519-7 dec v Glamorgan 221 & 191-3 - trail by 107

Another check of the ball from the umpires and it passes muster again.

Dan Moriarty does not look impressed and holds it aloft with a look of disdain.

His mood will not have improved as Sam Northeast sweeps his first ball to the rope for the first boundary of the morning. It's taken half-an-hour.

Northeast sweeps again to the next ball for a single and moves to 55.

Colin Ingram then belts the final ball through the covers for his first four of the day.

Nine from the over. On the charge!

  2. Postpublished at 11:33 British Summer Time 6 May

    Lancs 92 & 332 v Kent 261 & 90-1 (target 164)

More frustration for Lancashire as Tom Hartley gets another ball to spin and bounce past the outside edge.

Bell-Drummond squeezes the next ball to square leg for one.

Compton is forward and the ball balloons off his pad via the bat just in front of forward short leg.

    Another tense over.

  3. dropped catch

Compton dropped on 28published at 11:29 British Summer Time 6 May

    Lancs 92 & 332 v Kent 261 & 89-1 (target 164)

Single to Ben Compton pushing forward to Nathan Lyon into the on side.

Bell-Drummond pushes into the off side and sprints an ambitious single. A leg bye in fact. The LBW shout is turned down.

Compton tries to sweep but doesn't clear square leg.

Close! A top-edged sweep falls just short of a diving Will Williams on the on side. Actually, it's a drop. In the mitts and out again.

  4. 50 runs

50 for Colin Ingrampublished at 11:27 British Summer Time 6 May

    Yorkshire 519-7 dec v Glamorgan 221 & 182-3 - trail by 116

Colin Ingram scampers through for a rare two - the first non-single of the day so far - and that's a 35th career red-ball fifty off 121 balls.

He's been in prime form this season and he's reached the landmark in all four of the matches he's played. Five fifties in total.

He'll want to go on from here, of course, and soak up plenty more overs.

We have 87 more scheduled today. Lunch will be the first target

  5. 50 runs

Strangled cries as Dan Moriarty gets a lot of turn and beats Colin Ingram's forward prod.

It moves past the outside edge and wicketkeeper Jonathan Tattersall whips off the bails. In hope more than expectation. Maiden.

A 64th first-class fifty for Sam Northeast as he turns one away for a single - and a first since the opening knock of the season.

    It's taken a patient 140 balls.

He went on to make an unbeaten 335 in that one to set the highest individual score at Lord's.

Not sure he has time for a repeat today.

  6. Early lunch at Lord'spublished at 11:24 British Summer Time 6 May

    Middlesex 407-8 v Leicestershire 306

The grim forecast hasn't abated and the lunch break will be at 12:30 BST.

Don't count on a start 40 minutes after that. Sorry.

  7. Postpublished at 11:23 British Summer Time 6 May

    Lancs 92 & 332 v Kent 261 & 87-1 (target 164)

    Tom Hartley to continue.

Ben Compton pulls a short, leg side ball fine for one.

Bell-Drummond is half forward to Hartley with a late defensive jab.

How are your nerves, Kent fans? Quicker ball there - with turn.

  8. Postpublished at 11:22 British Summer Time 6 May

    Yorkshire 519-7 dec v Glamorgan 221 & 179-3 - trail by 119

A single apiece for Sam Northeast and Colin Ingram from Dan Moriarty's third over of the morning.

Northeast rocks back and punches a single off Dom Bess to Joe Root who comes round to field at cover.

Ingram then flicks another run to move onto 48. Deficit down to 119.

Dealing in singles only so far this morning.

  9. Postpublished at 11:19 British Summer Time 6 May

    Lancs 92 & 332 v Kent 261 & 86-1 (target 164)

The tactics are clear from Kent. Bold footwork and quick runs.

Ben Compton is forward again, pushing Nathan Lyon to long on for one more run.

That's a tight single - which may not have been a single at all with a direct hit from Tom Bailey.

Bell-Drummond is forward to drive but he doesn't quite get to the pitch of the ball.

Just one run in the over.

  10. 'Yorkshire to go heavy on the spin front once again'published at 11:17 British Summer Time 6 May

    Yorkshire 519-7 dec v Glamorgan 221 & 174-3 - trail by 124

    Jonathan Doidge
    BBC Radio Leeds cricket commentator

It's there for Glamorgan to bat well. We've had the heavy roller on, we've had sunny skies so far this morning, it's still bright but now cloudy.

It's played well barring those deliveries that have been dropped into the footmarks and we've seen some of those turn sharply.

You'd expect Yorkshire to go heavy on the spin front once again with Daniel Moriarty and Dom Bess taking lead with Joe Root no doubt chipping in.

The news on Matthew Fisher - it was an ankle issue when he tried to field the ball yesterday and didn't come back out after tea and I think there is a hope they can get him out onto the field at some point today. However I'll counter that by saying I didn't see him in the pre-day warm ups.

  11. Postpublished at 11:15 British Summer Time 6 May

    Lancs 92 & 332 v Kent 261 & 85-1 (target 164)

Lancashire don't quite have enough runs but this is a testing passage of play nonetheless.

Ben Compton is forward to Tom Hartley, playing defensively into the on side.

Shot! Compton is well forward to scoop-drive the left arm spinner through wide mid on for four.

    Calculated risk and well executed.

He'll keep the strike with a back foot drive down the ground for one.

  12. Postpublished at 11:13 British Summer Time 6 May

    Yorkshire 519-7 dec v Glamorgan 221 & 174-3 - trail by 124

Yorkshire skipper Shan Masood asks the umpires to take a look at the 63-over old ball after a second maiden of the morning from Dom Bess.

It passes through the rings and we play on.

Sam Northeast moves to 47 with a single and then the first scare of the morning.

Colin Ingram looks to play the next ball straight but gets a thick inside edge down to Dom Bess at short fine leg.

Ingram is happy to scurry down the other end with a single from the next ball.

  13. Postpublished at 11:11 British Summer Time 6 May

    Lancs 92 & 332 v Kent 261 & 80-1 (target 164)

Daniel Bell-Drummond moves to 42 with a flick into the on side for one off Nathan Lyon. He's moving right down the track to score.

Compton paddle sweeps fine for two.

Single off the third ball and four off the over in all. Kent looking busy.

  14. Postpublished at 11:08 British Summer Time 6 May

    Lancs 92 & 332 v Kent 261 & 76-1 (target 164)

Spin from both ends as Daniel-Bell Drummond faces left arm spinner Tom Hartley.

He scoops his first ball to mid wicket for one.

Single to Ben Compton, nudging behind square leg.

Hartley is a tad short and Bell-Drummond pulls to mid wicket for one more run.

Compton misses a back foot pull and the LBW shout is turned down. Too leg side. Sharp turn there.

  15. 'Unsparingly it will be Nathan Lyon to open the bowling'published at 11:07 British Summer Time 6 May

    Lancs 92 & 332 v Kent 261 & 73-1 (target 164)

    Scott Read
    BBC Radio Lancashire

Unsparingly, it will be Nathan Lyon to open the bowling and I suspect the majority of the bowling might be done by the two spinners - they might go with the seamer.

Kent have been the better side, albeit Lancashire did fight back pretty well yesterday - they had to.

They were 92 all out in the first session, they were so poor.

Some brilliant bowling by Kent, they bowled beautifully in the conditions on the second day but in truth Lancashire were blown away.

  16. Postpublished at 11:06 British Summer Time 6 May

    Yorkshire 519-7 dec v Glamorgan 221 & 172-3 - trail by 126

Sam Northeast didn't play that Dom Bess over entirely comfortably, but plays a sound forward defensive to end it.

    Maiden to open up.

Colin Ingram will face his first ball of the day from Dan Moriarty who got through an exhausting 23 overs of his slow left-arm bowling on day three.

He knocks a single into the offside off the third ball to get his account up and running for the day.

    Three dots follow.

    94 overs to go!

  17. Postpublished at 11:03 British Summer Time 6 May

    Lancs 92 & 332 v Kent 261 & 73-1 (target 164)

And straight away you can see the challenge of batting here against quality spin.

The first ball angles in, bounces and turns away from the outside edge of Ben Compton's bat.

An edge falls just short of Luke Wells at first slip.

Compton is back to the last ball cutting it away for two.

  18. We're under way at Headingleypublished at 11:01 British Summer Time 6 May

    Yorkshire 519-7 dec v Glamorgan 221 & 171-3 - trail by 127

Glamorgan pair Sam Northeast and Colin Ingram have plenty of hard toil ahead of them as they stride out to the middle.

Both are a few blows away from half-centuries, but that will be far from their minds, I'm sure.

It's slightly overcast in Leeds and we'll open up, unsurprisingly, with spin.

Dom Bess got through 19 overs yesterday morning and is the man to get things started.

  19. Final Day begins at Old Traffordpublished at 11:00 British Summer Time 6 May

    Lancs 92 & 332 v Kent 261 & 71-1 (target 164)

    Lancashire need to strike early.

Then anything might happen on a pitch offering turn and bounce for spinners Nathan Lyon and Tom Hartley.

Ben Compton is 14 not out and he will face the Aussie off spinner Nathan Lyon to get us started.

His batting partner and captain Daniel Bell-Drummond is unbeaten on 39 at the other end.

  20. Root - 'the schedule needs to change'published at 10:56 British Summer Time 6 May

    Joe RootImage source, Rex Features

England batter Joe Root has joined the call for a restructure of English domestic cricket.

The former England skipper believes the packed summer schedule is diminishing its quality and change would benefit the performance of the national team.

I won't mention our old friend The Hundred....
