  1. Goodbye!published at 18:18 British Summer Time 6 September

Thank you for joining us today, as Australia once again showed superior game management to get themselves out of a tricky situation before putting on a cricketing clinic.

Josh Inglis was the star, breaking an Aussie T20 record for the fastest ton as they motored on with the bat. Only two Scottish batters got to double figures, in stark contrast.

The beautiful thing about cricket though, is that it could all change tomorrow.

We'll see you in the afternoon. Goodbye!

  2. Australia want series whitewashpublished at 18:15 British Summer Time 6 September

Australia beat Scotland by 70 runs

Australia skipper Mitch Marsh tells BBC Sport: "It was a really good game of cricket. The way Ingo [Inglis] and Greeny [Green] got us out of a bit of trouble, with tough overhead conditions and the ball nipping around, was unbelievable. Another all round performance from us.

"We've got a young-ish group, a lot of guys getting opportunities. One of the things we spoke about was flexibility. It was Josh's turn today.

"There may be a couple of changes [tomorrow], I'm not too sure yet. I'll have to ask the coach. First and foremost, we want to win 3-0."

  3. 'Improvements' from Scotland despite 'big margin'published at 18:10 British Summer Time 6 September

Australia beat Scotland by 70 runs

Scotland captain Richie Berrington tells BBC Sport: "There was definitely improvements today. Much better with ball in hand, got off to a good start with two early wickets. In general, much better plan with ball in hand.

"You have to give a lot of credit to the innings Josh Inglis played. They kept getting boundaries through that middle period which was the difference, they made it hard to stop the flow of runs.

"The character the guys showed. We're disappointed with the result, and it does look like a big margin - but we came back really well from the other day.

"Chris Sole was very impressive with the ball. Hopefully we build on that and get better every game we play."

  4. Hear from new record-holder Inglis...published at 18:07 British Summer Time 6 September

Australia beat Scotland by 70 runs

After breaking the record for Australia's quickest ever T20 ton, Josh Inglis says: "It's pretty special to be honest, to hold that record is really nice.

"There was a bit happening [on the pitch] early doors. Me and Greeny spoke about building a partnership. Once the new ball wore off it got easier. I was just looking to play some good shots and show some intent.

"It's a good opportunity for me to get some game time and try cement my spot. There's a lot of good players but to put some performances on the board is pretty key."

  6. champagne moment

Australia beat Scotland by 70 runspublished at 17:40 British Summer Time 6 September

Chris Greaves clips one off his pads and it flies into the hands of Aaron Hardie down at fine leg.

That's the ball game. Scotland manage a measly total of 126 in response to Australia's 196.

Not the performance they'd have wanted, and Australia clinch the series with a game to play.

  7. wicket

WICKET Wheal c Bartlett b Stoinis 5published at 16.2 overs

    SCO 125-9

Wheal chips it nice and high to Bartlett for a simple catch. The Scottish batter was trudging off before the ball had even nestled in Bartlett's palms.

    Here comes Brad Currie.

  8. Postpublished at 16 overs

    SCO 125-8

Another appeal for LBW as Chris Greaves tries to sweep it off his pads. Not given, and Scotland run two.

Another appeal at the next ball. Just a single this time.

Scotland will do well to get to the 20th over at this rate. Marcus Stoinis back on.

  9. Postpublished at 14.4 overs

    SCO 115-8

Cam Green tries a full toss that strikes Brad Wheal high on the pad. Big appeal for LBW, not given.

The Aussies were adamant as well.

  10. wicket

WICKET Sole b Green 0published at 14.3 overs

    SCO 115-8 (target 197)

    Quack quack. A golden duck.

Chris Sole tries a bit old slog and Green dislodges the off stump.

Cam Green is on a hat-trick!

  11. wicket

WICKET Watt b Green 4published at 14.2 overs

    SCO 115-7 (target 197)

Cam Green's back on. His last over went for 13 and Scotland could do with that again and a bit more.

Instead, his second ball smacks Mark Watt in the pads and carries on.

Apart from Munsey and McMullen, this has been a pretty pathetic attempt.

  12. SCO 114-6 (target 197)published at 14 overs

Chris Greaves ramps the final ball of the 14th over past Josh Inglis' despairing dive and away for four.

Scotland need plenty more of them...

  13. wicket

    WICKET Leask c Fraser-McGurk b Stoinis 7published at 17:23 British Summer Time 6 September

    SCO 110-6 (target 197)

Scotland already had a mountain to climb and it's just got a bit bigger.

Michael Leask holes out to Jake Fraser-McGurk in the deep and the hosts are six down.

"Walking on Sunshine" by Katrina and the Waves rings around the Grange as McMullen trudges off.

Not quite reflective of the mood around the ground. Read the room, DJ.

  16. wicket

WICKET McMullen c David b Abbott 59published at 12.3 overs

    SCO 106-5 (target 197)

A stunning catch brings McMullen's excellent knock to an end.

He must think he's got six more - he runs at Sean Abbott and nails it to long-on, but Tim David runs round to his left and takes a great catch on the stretch.

  17. SCO 106-4 (target 197)published at 12.2 overs

Brandon McMullen is on the charge.

A scoop brings him four more past short fine-leg.

  18. SCO 101-4 (target 197)published at 12 overs

McMullen now goes inside-out through extra cover for four more.

Scotland need 96 more at exactly 12 an over.

for Brandon McMullenpublished at 11.4 overs

    SCO 96-4 (target 197)

Brandon McMullen goes to 50 with a couple into the leg-side.

    He's some talent.
