Summary

  • Scotland v Australia - start delayed due to wet outfield

  • Second of three T20Is

  • Australia won first match by seven wickets

  • All matches taking place at the Grange, Edinburgh

  1. 6 runs

    SCO 92-4 (target 197)published at 11.1 overs

Adam Zampa continues from the Inverleith Park end and is bopped down the ground for six by Brandon McMullen.

It's well taken by a spectator, who's off on a lap of honour.

  2. SCO 83-4 (target 197)published at 10.3 overs

Short from Cam Green and Michael Leask pulls powerfully behind square for four.

  3. 6 runs

    SCO 78-4 (target 197)published at 10.1 overs

Cam Green is into the attack, and Brandon McMullen greets him with a big straight six into the sightscreen.

Intent from Scotland's immensely talented number three.

  4. SCO 72-4 (target 197)published at 10 overs

A pair of singles from Leask and McMullen take Scotland to the halfway stage of their innings.

They need 125 more to win - which by my maths is 12.5 an over...

  5. wicket

WICKET Tear lbw b Zampa 5published at 9.2 overs

    SCO 69-4 (target 197)

Charlie Tear looks to sweep Adam Zampa, but doesn't connect and is pinned bang in front.

The umpire's finger goes up and Scotland's keeper has to go. Michael Leask joins Brandon McMullen in the middle.

  6. SCO 68-3 (target 197)published at 9 overs

Brandon McMullen heaves the final ball of the ninth over to the midwicket boundary for four.

He has 33, Scotland need 129 from 66 balls.

  7. SCO 60-3 (target 197)published at 8 overs

Adam Zampa sees the ball swept back past him by Brandon McMullen, but it's well stopped on the boundary by Tim David.

The Scots struggling to find the holes in the Australian field in that over.

  8. 6 runs

    SCO 50-3 (target 197)published at 6.2 overs

Scotland aren't done yet! Brandon McMullen steps back and smacks Sean Abbott over square leg. That gets the crowd back in the mood.

The next ball smacks McMullen in the thigh but the umpire isn't interested. Abbott isn't happy, he thought that was out.

  9. wicket

WICKET Berrington c Green b Stoinis 5published at 5.5 overs

    SCO 44-3 (target 197)

Just after that four, Berrington departs.

He completely mistimes a shot down the leg side and clips it up in the air where Green catches at cover, over his shoulder. A really disappointing innings from the skipper.

  10. SCO 42-2 (target 197)published at 5.4 overs

Marcus Stoinis' turn to have a go. A nice clip of the legs gets McMullen two before a stinger results in a quick single.

Richie Berrington back on strike and he watches another whizz by. The next ball is slapped away for four. Back in the groove.

  11. SCO 37-2 (target 197)published at 5 overs

More quality bowling from Xavier Bartlett, who beats the outside edge of Richie Berrington's bat four times on the spin.

  12. SCO 35-2 (target 197)published at 3.4 overs

Gorgeous from McMullen, who drives Hardie on the up back down the ground for four.

  13. 6 runs

    SCO 31-2 (target 197)published at 3.2 overs

    Huge from Brandon McMullen!

Stand and deliver stuff from Scotland's number three and it sails over the rope at cow corner.

  14. SCO 25-2 (target 197)published at 3.1 overs

Big cheers from the home crowd, as a misfield gifts Scotland an overthrow.

  15. SCO 22-2 (target 197)published at 2.5 overs

Beautiful bowling from Xavier Bartlett, who nips the ball past Brandon McMullen's outside edge with successive deliveries.

Scotland's number three nods his head in approval.

  16. wicket

WICKET Munsey c Marsh b Bartlett 19published at 2.1 overs

    SCO 20-2 (target 197)

A big blow for Scotland's hopes.

George Munsey splices the first ball of the third over straight to Mitch Marsh at mid-off, and has to drag himself off.

Richie Berrington is in at four.

  17. What's that bright thing in the sky?published at 1.5 overs

    SCO 20-1

Is that a hint of sun? Well, sort of. By the time I finished writing, it went away again.

The fog has lifted though. Will that help Scotland?

    The sun at Grange
  18. wicket

WICKET Jones c Inglis b Hardie 1published at 1.5 overs

    SCO 20-1 (target 197)

Back of a length this time from Hardie and Michael Jones can only hit it straight up in the air.

Josh Inglis makes good ground from behind the stumps to take the catch diving forwards.

  19. SCO 20-0 (target 197)published at 1.3 overs

    It's all happening.

A quick short ball from Aaron Hardie raps George Munsey on the gloves, Michael Jones comes through for a single that Munsey doesn't want, but Hardie misses with his shy at the stumps and Munsey survives.

  20. 6 runs

    SCO 17-0 (target 197)published at 1 over

    And again!

A lovely pick up for six more over square-leg. Xavier Bartlett takes pace off for the next ball and Munsey smears it through the covers for four.

A single finishes a great first over for Scotland.
