    Big wicket for Australia.

Jos Buttler can't believe it as he slog-sweeps the ball flat towards the deep mid-wicket boundary... and into the hands of Nathan Ellis.

The England skipper had hit a boundary the previous ball and he can't believe what he's done, dropping his head the moment the catch is taken.

Well held by Ellis low down and Glenn Maxwell has the last laugh at the end of an expensive over.

That's Jos Buttler. Short arm jab down the pitch, really big hit.

That's a good start for Jos Buttler!

Shimmy down the pitch and he hammers Glenn Maxwell high over cow corner for a big six.

If Jos Buttler could get a decent score today, it will put him in a good position for the rest of the tournament.

Ben Duckett is starting to look a little bit tired running between the wickets. He's been out there a long time in the Lahore heat.

One way to get again that? Hitting boundaries. The England left-hander does just that, carving Ben Dwarshuis through backward point for four.

Another boundary from the last ball of an over.

Bharat Sundaresan: Steve Smith compares captaining on turning Test pitches to a game of chess and he’s moved his pieces expertly so far to make the most of his limited resources on this flat pitch so far today. Helps to have a white-ball trump card like Adam Zampa up his sleeve.

A feature of ODIs is that we're used to an absolute rampage of sixes. We've not seen that today. Part of it is because this is such a big ground and partly it's because England, until now, have played with a great deal of discretion.

The Gaddafi Stadium has its own mosque and it's very impressive.

  10. Eng 258-4published at 39 overs

    Buttler 8, Duckett 134

Good over for England, 10 from it and there are 11 overs left in the innings.

If they can go at 10s the rest of the way they'll get up to 368 - an imposing total but on this surface, you still wouldn't write off Australia's chances of chasing it down.

Confidently played and he got it right out of the middle of the bat.

'Glorious shot!' - the best of Duckett's century against Australia

Ben Duckett has the highest score by an England man v Australia in an ICC 50-over event, beating Kevin Pietersen's 104 at the World Cup in Antigua in 2007. Ben Stokes the only other man to make a ton for England v Australia at a World Cup or Champions Trophy.

A lot can happen in these 12 overs, it's a crucial period.

Another over ends with a boundary, it won't count against Ben Dawrshuis as it is leg byes, but it was too straight from the left-arm seamer.

Ben Duckett moves across his stumps and while he can't get the tickle on it that he was after, his pad works just as well for getting the ball past Josh Inglis and down to the fine-leg boundary.

Adam Zampa has only one over left in his quota of 10 overs. Jos Buttler will be watchful, looking to see off the leg-spinner. Zampa has an excellent record against Buttler in ODIs.

Head-to-head in ODIs - Jos Buttler v Adam Zampa (before this match)

    • Nine innings
    • Five dismissals
    • 8.6 average
    • 75.4 strike rate
    • one four, one six
  17. 6 runs

    Eng 241-4published at 37 overs

Costly misstep - literally - from Adam Zampa.

A front-foot no-ball, from what should be the last ball of the over, gives Ben Duckett a free hit to get stuck into - and the England century-maker does just that.

Slight shuffle down the track to turn it into a full toss and he heaves it over long-on for six!

Harry Brook is so much better than what he's producing currently. I keep thinking 'this is the innings' and it just never is.

Went out for a 10km trail run. England were in trouble. Huge partnership while I'm out. Get back, Joe Root and Brook go. I'll get my muddy trainers...

The problem with Brook is his inability to rotate the strike and trying to hit boundaries to release the pressure he creates for himself

    Excellent from Ben Duckett.

First ball of the over from Adam Zampa and Duckett gets the reverse sweep out again, slightly uppish but into the gap again and safely away for four.

That shot prompt a change in the field from Australia.
