Really hard yards for Kent out there but the day finishes with an absolute flourish.

Two sixes from Michael Pepper and Jordan Cox has himself a century - 116 against his old side.

Essex have a commanding lead already and they may decide to stick on that and decide to put Kent in tomorrow.

Whatever happens, they have bossed day three here at Chelmsford.

Michael Pepper gets in on the act, clubbing Matt Parkinson for consecutive sixes with the final two balls of the day.

The Essex batting pair have been having a field day, conversely, Kent's bowlers have had a day to quickly forget.

Jordan Cox ends the day on 116 not out and Pepper is unbeaten on 34.

Essex have a big lead of 374.

This game has come to life a little bit, thankfully.

At the end of the day, county cricket needs to be entertaining as much as anything else.

I think we've seen a day where despite one or two setbacks, Lancashire have got themselves into a good position. They got the two early wickets, which is what any team in their situation will have wanted.

Still a lot of work to do tomorrow and Hampshire will know that.

What an innings!

It's over the stands and out of the ground I think!

No more drama in the final over of the day bowled by Dan Moriarty.

Keaton Jennings' 172 and 99 from George Bell earned Lancashire a 117-run lead at the end of their first innings.

Will Williams then made a couple of breakthroughs with the new ball to leave Hampshire two wickets down at the end of day three.

The spin of Nathan Lyon will surely be a key factor on day four.

Michael Pepper has sprinkled a few boundaries into the mix since joining the action too.

A strange old day at Edgbaston, where Warwickshire are still decently placed to beat Durham.

Strange, as Durham have on several occasions looked like they were nullifying any hopes of a Warwickshire win, but the Bears have kept chipping away and chipping away to keep those hopes alive.

And they are very much alive at the close on day three.

The visitors lost both openers in the 10 overs bowled before the close, so it's still all to play for on day four.

It's been all about the last 15 overs, Nathan Smith grabbing the game by the scruff of the neck and saying "you know what, we fancy a taste of this".

Excellent by Worcestershire in the field, it was hard going early on but it was a fabulous spell by the New Zealand overseas all-rounder - four wickets without a run conceded against his name.

The way things are right now, Worcestershire will be absolutely delighted and they've dragged themselves right back into this.
