  1. 'Cooke has batted nicely'published at 16:47 14 April

    Glamorgan 300-7 (lead by 339) v Derbyshire

    Dave Fletcher
    BBC Radio Derby Sport

Chris Cooke has batted nicely, congratulations to him.

It's going to take somebody in the Derbyshire team to get to a century to save the game, you'd fancy.

  2. 50 up for Essexpublished at 16:45 14 April

    Essex 530-7 dec & 50-1 v Kent 413

What a ball that was from Matt Parkinson - deserved a wicket.

It beats Dean Elgar all ends up and as it spins back inside it seems destined to hit an inside edge or the stumps but it ends up missing everything.

Parkinson appeals - for something, anything, but nothing doing.

  3. WICKET: Clark lbw b Yates 76published at 16:44 14 April

    Warwickshire 698-3 dec v Durham 453-7

Warwickshire grab their seventh wicket and Graham Clark, who has batted for most of the day for his 76, has to go.

Rob Yates gets one to turn sharply from outside off stump and it hits the pad. Doing too much? The umpire thinks it's going on to hit the timbers and Clark is given out.

England pace bowler Matt Potts in next in for the visitors, who need 96 more to avoid the follow-on.

  4. WICKET: Williams b Dawson 1published at 16:44 14 April

    Hampshire 367 v Lancashire 472-9

Jack Blatherwick tries to smear a James Fuller delivery to Portsmouth but misses, and the ball dribbles through to the wicketkeeper.

He makes better contact second time around and adds four more to the Lancashire total.

At the start of the next over, Liam Dawson sneaks one through the defences of Will Williams and Hampshire need one more wicket before their openers can slap their pads on for a second time.

Nathan Lyon is the last man in and we know he doesn't mind throwing the bat late in an innings. Might be fun...

  5. 100 for Chris Cookepublished at 16:42 14 April

    Glamorgan 300-7 (lead by 339) v Derbyshire

What a knock this has been by Glamorgan keeper Chris Cooke.

He's taken his side from 136-6 and a lead of just over 150 to favourites for victory.

    It's the 37-year-old's 13th first-class hundred.

  6. 'A captain's innings from Simpson'published at 16:39 14 April

    Leics 338 v Sussex 694-9 dec

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

It's been a captain's innings from John Simpson.

205 not out is what you call leading from the front.

  7. Yorkshire set Gloucs 498 to winpublished at 16:38 14 April

    Gloucs 263 v Yorkshire 326 & 434-6 dec

Matt Milnes biffs Josh Shaw for a maximum and that's Yorkshire's second innings done.

Gloucestershire need a mammoth 498 for victory, Yorkshire have 26 overs remaining tonight to make inroads.

  8. Postpublished at 16:36 14 April

    Warwickshire 698-3 dec v Durham 447-6

The seventh-wicket stand between Ben Raine and Graham Clark is now worth 116 and this Durham pair are batting their side towards a high-scoring draw.

There was just a glimmer of hope for Warwickshire when Brydon Carse's dismissal left Durham 331-6 earlier in the afternoon.

However, even if the Bears race through the remainder of the batting line-up this evening and enforce the follow-on, after 127 overs in the field, you wonder if they will have the energy to bowl Durham out for a second time on the final day.

  9. Sussex declare on 694-9published at 16:36 14 April

Sussex lead Leics by 356 runs

NOBODY wants to score 700 this season!

Ari Karvelas is dismissed for 55 and Sussex skipper John Simpson walks off, 205 not out.

Sussex will have 22 overs to bowl this evening... if the light holds.

  10. 200 for John Simpsonpublished at 16:32 14 April

    Leics 338 v Sussex 691-8

This remarkable early-season scoring continues as Sussex skipper John Simpson goes to a maiden first-class double hundred.

It's come off 293 balls and included 23 fours and five sixes.

Sussex were 282-6 last night and facing a possible first-innings deficit.

    They're now 353 in front.

Are we going to see our first team total of 700 this campaign... on 14 April?!

  11. WICKET: Hameed c Jones b Baker 40published at 16:31 14 April

    Notts 399 & 81-1 v Worcs 355

Haseeb Hameed will be livid with that.

On 40, the Notts captain goes for a big shot off Josh Baker and can only sky it to Rob Jones in the covers.

Ben Slater joins Ben Duckett, who is 40 not out.

  12. 'Steel has been very impressive'published at 16:30 14 April

    Surrey 428 v Somerset 285 & 122-4

    Dan Whiting
    BBC Radio London

Cameron Steel has been very impressive, he goes under the radar a little bit.

  13. Postpublished at 16:28 14 April

    Notts 399 & 78-0 v Worcs 355

Worcestershire have limited Nottinghamshire to 19 runs from the first seven overs after tea, but without success.

Notts will hope to increase that scoring rate and push the lead towards - and maybe beyond - 200 by the close.

  14. Postpublished at 16:26 14 April

Finally a bit of joy for the bowlers!

  15. WICKET: Banton c Lawrence b Steel 11published at 16:25 14 April

    Surrey 428 v Somerset 285 & 121-4

Surrey's spinners are getting the job done today!

Cam Steel and Dan Lawrence both have two wickets with all four Somerset batters falling to spin.

Steel temps Tom Banton into a little cut away but he top-edges it and it balloons up to Lawrence who has the easiest of catches.

James Rew, who had that excellent breakthrough season last year, joins the action.

  16. WICKET: Bell run out 99published at 16:23 14 April

    Hampshire 367 v Lancashire 459-8

Oh my word! Heartbreak for George Bell!

He dabs one towards backward point and sets off for a single that would take him to a maiden first-class hundred...

But the ball is stopped, Bell hesitates and turns back, and the stumps are thrown down with Bell just out of his ground!

That one will sting... it takes Bell an age to leave the field and he looks crestfallen as he trudges off.

  17. WICKET: Khushi c Jaydn Denly b Agar 8published at 16:23 14 April

    Essex 530-7 dec & 31-1 v Kent 413

Feroze Khushi leaves the fieldImage source, Rex Features

Feroze Khushi tries to pull Wes Agar over the square leg boundary but his head drops as he sees he hasn't got enough on the shot and Jaydn Denly can take a simple catch in the deep.

It's a big boundary on that side and Khushi knew as soon as he hit it that it wasn't going to be enough.

  18. WICKET: Brook c Dale b de Lange 68published at 16:20 14 April

    Gloucs v Yorkshire 393-5 (lead by 456)

Harry Brook whips Marchant de Lange into the leg-side off the front foot, but it's in the air and Ajeet Singh Dale takes the catch.

Brook out for 68 off 57 balls.

Still no declaration as Jonny Tattersall comes in at seven.

  19. WICKET: Bailey lbw b Dawson 31published at 16:18 14 April

    Hampshire 367 v Lancashire 457-7

Liam Dawson picks up his third wicket in his 46th over.

Tom Bailey misses with his reverse-sweep attempt and is trapped in front.

  20. Postpublished at 16:15 14 April

    Essex 530-7 dec & 30-0 v Kent 413

Dean Elgar and Feroze Khushi have started well as Essex look to build runs quickly.

Their advantage is up to almost 150 now and they have about 34 overs this evening to crack on.
