    Hampshire 367 v Lancashire 443-6

George Bell is into the nineties and nearing a maiden first-class century, at a time that some cricketers might feel is not ideal.

We're nearing the tea interval, so some batters would be desperate to get to the milestone before then, but you could forgive the 21-year-old for feeling a few nerves and going into his shell a bit as well.

A single out to deep cover takes him up to 92.

  2. KENT ALL OUT FOR 413published at 15:32 British Summer Time 14 April 2024

    Essex 530-7 dec v Kent 413 - Kent trail by 117

    Matt CritchleyImage source, Rex Features

Kent opener Ben Compton has batted magnificently but doesn't carry his bat as he becomes the last man out for his side.

He made 165 from 362 balls but is bowled by Simon Harmer as he tried to sweep him away.

Matt Critchley took 5-105 for Essex.

  3. wicket

WICKET: Lammonby lbw Steel 51published at 15:29 British Summer Time 14 April 2024

    Surrey 428 v Somerset 285 & 102-3

Big wicket as Cameron Steel stops Tom Lammonby in his tracks!

The Somerset batter has gone for 51.

Lewis Goldsworthy (35) and new batter Tom Banton at the crease.

  4. Postpublished at 15:29 British Summer Time 14 April 2024

    Notts 399 & 44-0 v Worcs 355

We're into the 12th over of Nottinghamshire's second innings and, with the new ball yielding little for the seamers, Worcestershire have turned to left-arm spinner Josh Baker.

Nine runs from it, including a sweep for four by Ben Duckett.

This Trent Bridge pitch is now in its seventh day of use but you wouldn't know it by how comfortable the two Notts openers have looked on it this afternoon.

  5. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 15:24 British Summer Time 14 April 2024

    Essex 530-7 dec v Kent 408-9

George Garrett pulls a shot towards Shane Snater who gets two hands to it... but it slips through his fingers.

That would have ended the Kent innings, but on we go.

  6. Postpublished at 15:21 British Summer Time 14 April 2024

    Warwickshire 698-3 dec v Durham 382-6

    Shot! Big six!

Ben Raine, down on one knee, sweeps Jacob Bethell over midwicket for a maximum.

And that's the 50 partnership between Raine and Graham Clark.

  7. 400 up for Kentpublished at 15:20 British Summer Time 14 April 2024

    Essex 530-7 dec v Kent 403-9

George Garrett sends Jamie Porter to the boundary as Kent cross the 400-run threshold.

Past 400 - but still trailing by 125 tells you a lot of runs have been scored in this game!

  8. Postpublished at 15:18 British Summer Time 14 April 2024

    Hampshire 367 v Lancashire 430-6

Lancashire are accumulating steadily at Utilita Bowl, where their lead is now up to 63.

George Bell is 13 away from a maiden first-class century.

  9. Postpublished at 15:16 British Summer Time 14 April 2024

    Notts 399 & 27-0 v Worcs 355

That's the Ben Duckett we know.

Joe Leach offers the tiniest amount of width from around the wicket and Duckett is all over it, cutting it behind square on the offside for a boundary.

Worcestershire respond by bringing Jason Holder into the attack for the first time in this second innings.

  10. wicket

WICKET: Root c Bracey b Akhter 51published at 15:15 British Summer Time 14 April 2024

    Gloucs 263 v Yorkshire 326 & 310-4

The worst way to get out!

Zaman Akhter fires one down the leg side and Joe Root gets a tickle on it through to James Bracey who takes a fine diving catch.

He'll be disappointed not to have gone on.

  11. Postpublished at 15:14 British Summer Time 14 April 2024

    Gloucs 263 v Yorkshire 326 & 310-3

    Hazza!

    Harry Brook is motoring.

The England batter lofts Graeme van Buuren for a sweet four down the ground, then rocks back and pulls the spinner for six.

He follows it up in the next over by flicking paceman Zaman Akhter to the rope before deftly guiding him down to third man for another four.

    Brook's up to 29 off 27 balls.

  12. 50 runs

50 for Tom Lammonbypublished at 15:13 British Summer Time 14 April 2024

    Surrey 428 v Somerset 285 & 97-2

A boundary off the bowling of Cameron Steel brings up the in-form Tom Lammonby's half-century.

  13. Postpublished at 15:12 British Summer Time 14 April 2024

    Warwickshire 698-3 dec v Durham 375-6

Spin from both ends as Warwickshire chase the four wickets they need to make Durham bat again.

Ben Raine and Graham Clark have added 44 for the seventh wicket.

  14. Postpublished at 15:11 British Summer Time 14 April 2024

    Surrey 428 v Somerset 285 & 91-2

Consecutive boundaries from Lewis Goldsworthy helps the Somerset rebuilding process.

He's on 30 from 47 balls and his side now trail by just 50 runs.

  15. 'Critchley has bowled nicely today'published at 15:10 British Summer Time 14 April 2024

    Essex 530-7 dec v Kent 388-9

    Don Topley
    BBC Essex

Well bowled Matt Critchley, he's bowled nicely today.

How will Essex play tonight? I would imagine that they will be positive when their opportunity comes to have a second innings.

  16. 50 for Joe Rootpublished at 15:08 British Summer Time 14 April 2024

    Gloucs 263 v Yorkshire 326 & 286-3

It was inevitable after his first-innings failure.

Joe Root brings up a speedy half-century off 56 balls.

It's Root's 81st fifty in first-class cricket to go with 43 hundreds. You wouldn't bet against him making it number 44 in Bristol.

  17. wicket

WICKET: Parkinson c Harmer b Critchley 4published at 15:06 British Summer Time 14 April 2024

    Essex 530-7 dec v Kent 388-9

A five-wicket haul for Matt Critchley to go with his unbeaten 151.

Matt Parkinson tries to slot one away off the back foot but he's off balance and edges to Simon Harmer at slip.

One more to go for Essex to wrap up the innings.

Kent are still more than 140 behind.

  18. Postpublished at 15:04 British Summer Time 14 April 2024

    Warwickshire 698-3 dec v Durham 369-6

If you're wondering, the cumulative score at Edgbaston in this match is 1,067-9 - a score I have racked up many a time on cricket video games over the years.

  19. 50 runs

50 for Graham Clarkpublished at 15:02 British Summer Time 14 April 2024

    Warwickshire 698-3 dec v Durham 367-6

Yet another batter is raising their bat to celebrate a milestone at Edgbaston.

It's Durham's Graham Clark on this occasion.

Of the 13 players to have made it to the middle in this match, seven have made at least a half-century.

  20. Postpublished at 14:59 British Summer Time 14 April 2024

    Notts 399 & 16-0 v Worcs 355

No alarms for the Nottinghamshire openers in the first five overs of their second innings.

Haseeb Hameed (12 not out) has again found an offside boundary off Joe Leach and is outscoring his partner Ben Duckett (four not out) by three to one.
