  1. wicket

Worcestershire all out for 355published at 14:28 British Summer Time 14 April 2024

    Notts 399 v Worcs 355

Calvin Harrison ends with 5-128 after wrapping up the Worcestershire first innings by bowling Adam Finch for three.

Joe Leach is left stranded on 48 not out, two short of what would have been a deserved half-century.

Notts will start their second innings shortly with a 44-run advantage.

  2. 100s for Simpson & Lambpublished at 14:27 British Summer Time 14 April 2024

    Leics 338 v Sussex 473-6

Danny Lamb and John Simpson hugImage source, Rex Features

This is sensational stuff from Sussex on day three.

Shortly after captain John Simpson brought up his century, Danny Lamb joins his batting partner in reaching three figures.

Lamb has been the aggressor in their seventh-wicket stand of 191, taking just 108 balls to reach his ton.

Sussex's lead is up to 135 and they still haven't lost a wicket today.

  3. 'April is normally time for seamers to cash in'published at 14:25 British Summer Time 14 April 2024

    Notts 399 v Worcs 355-9

    Grace Ballinger
The Blaze bowler on BBC Radio Nottingham

It's really interesting, you normally see April is a time for the seamers to cash in but it's been quite the opposite.

Lots of runs scored, so for the Bazball enthusiasts, maybe the Kookaburra experiment has been fantastic. But for the die-hard cricket fans, not so much.

  4. wicket

WICKET: Carse c Briggs b Barnard 12published at 14:22 British Summer Time 14 April 2024

    Warwickshire 698-3 dec v Durham 331-6

When your team is looking to bat time to save a game, Brydon Carse might want that one back.

He advances down the pitch to Ed Barnard and pulls straight to Danny Briggs on the boundary.

Will that open the door wider for the Bears?

  5. Postpublished at 14:21 British Summer Time 14 April 2024

    Notts 399 v Worcs 350-9

Worcestershire collect their third batting bonus point at Trent Bridge with 17 balls to spare before the 110-over cut-off.

We suggested earlier that the visitors might be looking at a first-innings deficit of about 100 when they lost their eighth wicket. Well, it'll definitely be below 50, so full credit to Nathan Smith, Joe Leach and company.

  6. wicket

WICKET: Renshaw lbw b Lawrence 16published at 14:19 British Summer Time 14 April 2024

    Surrey 428 v Somerset 285 & 43-2

Matt Renshaw had been going along nicely alongside Tom Lammonby but the former has departed after being pinned lbw trying to sweep Dan Lawrence.

The Surrey spinner is making the difference and has 2-4 from his two overs.

Lammonby is on 28 and his side still trail by 99.

  7. Postpublished at 14:19 British Summer Time 14 April 2024

    Gloucs 263 v Yorkshire 326 & 235-2

    Classic Joe Root.

Ollie Price tosses one up on middle stump and Root dinks a reverse sweep to the rope.

The England man is up to a run-a-ball 18.

  8. wicket

WICKET: Jennings lbw b Dawson 172published at 14:18 British Summer Time 14 April 2024

    Hampshire 367 v Lancashire 377-5

My apologies to Keaton Jennings for inflicting the commentator's curse...

The Lancashire left-hander tries a reverse sweep off Liam Dawson but misses it completely and the ball thunders into his pad.

There were 21 boundaries in his 297-ball knock and it's an innings that has put his side into a strong position.

  9. 'I've been really impressed with Pennington'published at 14:18 British Summer Time 14 April 2024

    Notts 399 v Worcs 349-9

    Grace Ballinger
The Blaze bowler on BBC Radio Nottingham

It was a good delivery by Dillon Pennington, he's been relatively successful with that short ball. He got it at that awkward height were the batter doesn't know whether to leave it or not.

I've been really impressed with Pennington, he deserved that wicket.

  10. Lancashire into the leadpublished at 14:12 British Summer Time 14 April 2024

    Hampshire 367 v Lancashire 375-4

Keaton Jennings is up to 171 not out and Lancashire are now leading at Utilita Bowl.

He and George Bell, who has 65, are loving life at the moment and rarely have looked in any real danger on this third day.

  11. 'Crowd will see one of the very best'published at 14:12 British Summer Time 14 April 2024

    Gloucs 263 v Yorkshire 326 & 222-2

    Shah Faisal
    BBC Radio Leeds

This Sunday crowd here can see one of the very best of the world and one of the very best that England has ever produced in Joe Root.

He's up to 13 without blinking.

  12. wicket

WICKET: Smith c James b Pennington 58published at 14:09 British Summer Time 14 April 2024

    Notts 399 v Worcs 347-9

Nottinghamshire confirm maximum bowling bonus points as Dillon Pennington dismisses Nathan Smith for a fine 58.

Smith pulls straight to Lyndon James a few yards in from the boundary and must depart.

Joe Leach is still there on 46, with Worcestershire three runs away from a third batting bonus point.

  13. Postpublished at 14:07 British Summer Time 14 April 2024

    Essex 530-7 dec v Kent 322-7

Ben Compton is now on 131 not out and has remained unmoved as he's had to part with many batting partners today.

He's set to move past Daniel Bell-Drummond's 135 and could then better Matt Critchley's 151 for Essex.

  14. Postpublished at 14:05 British Summer Time 14 April 2024

    Hampshire 367 v Lancashire 360-4

It won't be too long until "Lancashire trail by" becomes "Lancashire lead by" on the scorecard.

It's looking pretty easy going for Keaton Jennings and George Bell.

  15. 'Notts would have hoped to have been batting earlier'published at 13:57 British Summer Time 14 April 2024

    Notts 399 v Worcs 341-8

    Jim Dale
    BBC Hereford and Worcester

There are no obvious signs from those first two overs we've seen so far that things are going to be any easier for Nottinghamshire with this second new ball.

Nottinghamshire would have been hoping that they'd have been batting long before now.

  16. Postpublished at 13:56 British Summer Time 14 April 2024

    Warwickshire 698-3 dec v Durham 313-5

Durham played out 22 consecutive dot balls after lunch at Edgbaston before Graham Clark opened their account for the afternoon with a powerful pull for four off Will Rhodes, followed by a gorgeous drive to the boundary off the very next ball.

  17. Root comes in at fourpublished at 13:54 British Summer Time 14 April 2024

    Gloucs 263 v Yorkshire 326 & 202-2

Gloucestershire spinner Graeme van Buuren gets Adam Lyth for 113, caught reverse sweeping, and it brings Joe Root to the crease.

The England batter only made two in the first innings. No doubt he'll better that this time around with batting looking particularly comfortable...

  18. 50 runs

50 for George Bellpublished at 13:51 British Summer Time 14 April 2024

    Hampshire 367 v Lancashire 342-4

George Bell will take a few more of these during the course of the afternoon, for sure.

The Lancashire number six gets a half-bunger from off-spinner Nick Gubbins and he smashes it over midwicket for six to bring up his half-century.

It's the 21-year-old's fourth first-class fifty and he's halfway towards a maiden hundred.

  19. wicket

WICKET Agar lbw Critchley 10published at 13:50 British Summer Time 14 April 2024

    Essex 530-7 dec v Kent 312-7

    Matt CritchleyImage source, Rex Features

It didn't take long after lunch for another Kent wicket to fall.

Matt Critchley has a third wicket as Wes Agar reaches to meet his delivery but it deceives him and turns onto the batter's pads.

Essex still going very well indeed.

  20. Postpublished at 13:48 British Summer Time 14 April 2024

    Surrey 428 v Somerset 285 & 11-1

Matt Renshaw and Tom Lammonby need to steady things up for Somerset after the loss of opener Sean Dickson just before lunch, which left them 0-1.

Surrey have a healthy looking lead of 132.
