As soon as India lose their line or length, England need to capitalise on it.

Oh dear. That caused a sharp intake of breath. Maia Bouchier takes a big swing, misses, and the ball climbs over the stumps. Phew.

I liked that from Maia Bouchier. She's tried that shot before but it's a little bit flatter this time and with a bit more control. It's a really well executed shot.

There's plenty of seam bowling to come from India. If England can play smart, they will have the option coming onto the bat with a little bit more pace.

England need 49 runs from 36 balls

Maia Bouchier finally times one and finds a gap between mid-on and mid-wicket for four.

England tick off nine runs to keep the scoreboard moving but you can feel the pressure beginning to creep in.

  8. Eng 110-2published at 13 overs

England need 58 runs from 42 balls

India appeal for an lbw against Tammy Beaumont, who is down on one knee attempting a reckless ramp. Umpire Wilson is unmoved and they opt against the review.

It's another tidy over from Radha Yadav, who finishes with figures of 1-20.

The required rate has crept above eight.

You could see the thinking from Danni Wyatt-Hodge - she wanted to get it done with.

But you just could see it coming. She was so well set after getting her half century. She's done fabulously well, but she will look back at that and think she could've got them over the line.

Uh oh. Danni Wyatt-Hodge sends one straight up in the air and picks out Jemimah Rodriques at mid-on.

Just a little wobble from England.

On paper, you would think England are more than comfortable here, but The Oval game makes you feel a little uncomfortable.

Feels a little too late here but it's still something India can rally around as a team.

Radha Yadav has been the pick of India's bowlers and she deserves that wicket.

Sophia Dunkley has been bowled for 46. It looks like she was deceived by the flight.

The opening stand has finally been broken.

England are going very nicely. Both Sophia Dunkley and Danni Wyatt-Hodge have been timing their shots really well.

Even if they do not win the series but win this game, it gives them some boost going into the one-day internationals.

Alongside the boundaries, one thing England are doing nicely is running between the wickets and turning ones into twos.

    100 up for England.

It's very slow from Shafali Verma. It's neither turning nor swinging.

  20. Eng 95-0published at 10 overs

England need 73 runs from 60 balls

Well, that was an interesting over from Shafali Verma, bowling in a T20 international for the first time since July 2023.

It's hard to identify exactly what she's bowling and she doesn't concede a boundary. Nine from it.

At the halfway mark, England are 95-0 and coach Charlotte Edwards has come running onto the field with something approaching a smile on her face.

I should clarify that it's drinks, she hasn't just charged on mid-cricket.
